Just noticed on booking from SYD - BKK that the flight time is now 14 hours 50 minutes. Is there some new routing that I am unaware of?

IainF, I can see 3 scenarios:

1. An error
2. A new stopover
3. Change of aircraft - back to a Fokker (what could possibly be so slow?)

Your flight or Mrs IainF?

Although 14 hours in F would still be acceptable, wouldn't it ;)

Must be an error ... chockers too ...

This is the flight for MrsF and the MiL.
I looked at Expert flyer & it only just zeroed out overnight. A bit strange.
I can't explain the flight time though....
No routing or stopovers I can see.

A delay for some Flounging perhaps :D - however did you arrange it?

A nice massage would give you extra brownie points

They've maybe included time for queueing at immigration.
(Actually not too bad recently)

Check the arrival time (18.50 Bangkok = 21.50 Sydney). So by departure & arrival times as shown, the actual duration is 9.20. Therefore the error is in the "calculated" flight duration - QED

Is that a connecting flight before it? The duration likely is from the start of that flight.

18:50 BKK - 14 hours 50 minutes = 4 am BKK time, so 7am Brisbane.

or, Depart 07:00 Brisbane, Arrive 18:50 BKK = 14 hours, 50 minutes

QF seem to have issues with flight times with time zone changes. Dont ask me why 95%+ can be done accurately, but 5% doesnt (I assume it's a mistake in a line of code in their programming).

I tried emailing them once to point out they'd made an error in the flight times BNE-MEL during daylight savings (one way just over an hr, the other way just over 3hrs) - they replied and basically said "rest asssured we know all about daylight savings and dont worry about it" - ie. proforma email reply.

I guess i'm saying dont waste your time telling them - they wont be interested.

I am guessing that is the explanation.

I have a multi-city booking BNE-SYD(overnight)-BKK and then BKK-SYD-BNE and this 3rd flight is 19h 10m which includes the 8h 35m transit in SYD....

IainF, trust they will both enjoy the F service today and probably the time taken will be merely incidental. See you both on your return ;)

Hi guys and gals, does Qantas offer the kerb side assistance at BKK for F passengers or is this only in SYD and MEL? The service was great in Sydney!

Ahh bugger! Oh well

While it’s nothing special, using the F check-in should be fairly painless. (Though it does sometimes get clogged with WP riff-raff.)
Just make sure they give you a Fast Track card.
