Interesting, I would have thought a change in status would include bag tags.

I don't think there is much point in sending someone downgrading from Platinum to Gold new tags anyway. There is nothing to stop them continuing to use their platinum tags.

As someone who'll hit WP for the first time in mid-late March it seems as though I'll be a little underwhelmed by the 'appreciation' shown for my loyalty.

Then again it really is just thanks to Rio Tinto being able to obtain full Y SCs at a Red-E-Deal price.

You'll probably get to WP1 by the end of the year.....my brother also works for Rio and recently located to Perth. In the last 5 months of his membership year he earned 3020SC all DOM & all West Coast flying:shock:

They look different, and I honestly think the Gold ones look better than Plat or Silver, though the QP Red and CL tags are pretty nice too

The black CL ones are absolute boss. I can't believe anyone would pay for a red bag tag other than for the cosmetic value; then again they are probably more exclusive - WP/SG bag tags are on almost every bag in Dom emerald city!

Red Roo would get us all CL bag tags, but that would diminish their value hanging off our briefcases, laptops and luggage - imagine the consternation at the CLounge entry That's definitely a tag (and status) one earns.

I received the Silver ones at the roll-out of NGCI, became Gold shortly after so received them too, I bought Red the other day and my Platinum pack should be in the mail!

It's hard to tell the difference between silver & platinum qtags as they look very similar. Have to agree the CL black ones rock!

Actually it's relatively simple.

One has a red QF logo, and the other doesn't.

Well, I believe that's the subtle difference.

On the other hand, I wonder what the colour scheme should've been for better differentiation of levels. Perhaps it should've been Platinum get black tags with white writing and red logo, whereas CL gets black tags with either gold or red writing?

Got my renewed Platinum pack in the mail yesterday.

I'm not as underwhelmed as I thought I would be. In fact, I find this rather satisfactory. My previous Platinum requalification pack was just a letter, a mini booklet and the card itself. So this is not a big deal.

The "packet" I received is nicely designed enough.

I do wish that they didn't use a piece of sticky plastic to put the membership card on the letter. Sometimes they don't come off gracefully and you end up with excess plastic or smudge marks on the card. Putting the card in a couple of slits, a recess or held down with two strips of breakable plastic film would be better...


I'm not sure what a newly qualified Platinum's pack would look like. It'd be nice if it was like the "black book block" when they formally rolled out NGCI, but anyway.......

Well no luck here yet. Hoping it arrives tomorrow before the AGM so I can at least show it off, but understand it wont give me ATA anyway. So far it’s been 9 business days since qualification, 12 ordinary days.
