Is AFF running slower than usual for anybody?

No problems in the US until the ninth but yesterday in Tokyo just had to give up as intolerably slow.Appears better now but only 0440 now.

Was very slow to the point of timing out in Sydney last night, seems a bit better this morning (touch wood).

My connection has been poor all morning - to a point of pages not loading correctly etc.

Well extremely slow in Tokyo tonight.Have PMed Admin the trace.
This thread took over 10 minutes to load.To reply the page took 7 minutes to load.

If you are experiencing difficulties, please send us a "Trace Route" when you are experiencing difficulties.
Very slow page loading in general, have noticed since late last week. Am seeing the same slowness from multiple ISPs in the UK; one trace route below.

The below screenshot is from FireBug (add-on to FireFox) .. it seems the majority of the delay is just waiting for the first page to be sent back to the browser.

The screenshot/details below relate to loading this page.

The first exchange breaks down as:
Blue 0 1ms DNS lookup
Green +1ms 316ms Connecting
Red +317ms 0 Sending
Purple +317ms 9.25s Waiting
Grey +9.57s 2.83s Receiving

The whole page took just under 15s to load. My guess is that if it's not the server itself, the issue is very close to the server (i.e. not an "out on the Internet" issue)

Thank you to everyone for sending through your traces.

Our server administrator has been in contact with the Data Centre. They advised that there were "issues" with their "upstream providers" over the last few days. They say all issues have been resolved. Plesae let me know if you continue to experience poor performance.

Apologies for any inconvenience and thanks for your patience.

I have been having periods of slowness in the last day or two, which I have traced to the responsiveness (or rather lack of properly resolving) of a.australianfrequentflyer.com.au. Are there any known issues with the CDN?

[Technical Stuff] Not that we are aware of. Although there was maintenance to the LAX node in the CDN Network last week. (See
Schedule maintenance on Datacenter LAX3 « NetDNA Blog). That node does serve Australia, so there might have been some impact. Please let me know if the issue persists. [/Technical Stuff]

I would like to add that the website itself is at a speed I would get from any website, however when loading specific threads, it slows horribly - up to 1 - 2 minutes to load up a thread, per page... then when you return to the index, its like nothing has happened.

A trace would be useless in this instance, however perhaps the database hardware is straining?

I have literally days when this forum will not even load (ie - not even the landing page) - not sure if its just me or not

It was down for about 2 hours tonight. Took some samples during the middle of it and not sure if they’ll help.

It was down for about 2 hours tonight. Took some samples during the middle of it and not sure if they’ll help.

Yes, we did have an unplanned disruption last night, which has now beed resolved. See email received from the Data Centre

The below issue has been resolved. We thank you for your patience during this issue and wish to re-assure customers that we are working with the upstream to enure that this does not re-occur.

This is a e-mail to inform you that we are aware of service issues as per the advisory below:

Description: Packet Loss
Subject: Packet Loss 14/08/2011 – 19:50 to 21:30
Advisory Type: Unplanned Service Disruption
Services: International IP Transit & some local peers
Advisory notes:

One of our upstream carriers is experiencing packet loss in their core network, this is affecting some IP Transit to local ISP’s and some international destinations. Customers will not be seeing an outage, just slow page loading times and possible packet loss on their service.

We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause and anticipate to have this resolved shortly
.

Apologies for any inconvenience. Unfortunately, these things do happen from time-to-time.

Anyone else with problems today?Couldn't access this morning-a message saying we are having a problem and hope to fix it soon.
Could access again ~0700.But went again until 1415.
2 different places,computers AND ispS.
Did anyone else from the Sunny Coast have problems-seemed everything else worked.

From where I am in Vic everything appears to be going extremely fast and has been every time I've looked today.

Anyone else finding AFF loading slow, its has been like this for about a week. Is there something I am doing wrong, as I am using Firefox, but it is happening on 2 separate computers, on 2 different networks, home wifi, work cable.

I remember munitalP making a comment about how slow the forum was for him, but he was overseas at the time.

I thought I would use an existing thread instead of starting a new one.
