Is AFF running slower than usual for anybody?

My internet speed hasn't changed and all other sites like smh.com.au are as quick as usual but AFF seems to be chugging along, noticeably slower to load. Maybe the possums running on the treadmill had too much chocolate over easter?

Seriously though is anybody else finding this site is a bit slower to load pages than usual?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Yes, I have noticed that the site has been considerably slower for the last 2 - 3 weeks. Likewise my speed hasn't slowed and I find other sites are loading at the usual speed.

A week or two ago it was awful, however it has improved for me lately, so I’m not complaining at the moment.

We did make some changes to our DNS host about 2 weeks ago. We also implemented a CDS system about 4 weeks ago. Both should have actually improved things

Please keep an eye on site performance and drop me a PM if you continue to experience poor performance.

Everything appears to load OK today but AFF has been slower than usual the past week or so....

If it's any help, I am finding the home page is as fast to load as usual but going to an individual thread seems to take longer, also moving back and forth in the thread, from one page to the next.

I've also noticed that some threads wouldn't load at all or take minutes to come up. last night especially.

I have been having similar issues but I also have a very dodgy internet connection at the moment so I'm not really sure where the blame lies.

Running much slower for me the last few days...and it was down this afternoon for a chunk of time?

I've just recently joined and I find the site very slow. On Thursday(18th May) I just gave up because it was too slow. Today seems better but it is a very slow site compared to other sites I visit.
Can someone from AFF enlighten us?

admin does keep a fairly close eye on this and is quite responsive to peoples feedback. He has been away from home this weekend so may not be aware of peoples problems.

It is running OK for me (not fast or slow) but I am having other internet issues so I'm not in a position to comment about this.

Yes it is painfully slow. Some days are better than others but always slow.
I only joined recently so I don't know what is normal.
Moving from page to page within a thread is very slow. All other internet pages including news video clips work fine for me but not AFF.
I perhaps do not use this potentially interesting web site as much because of this.
I often think twice about whether I really want to wait for the next page.

It's noticeably slower when going in to a thread for me as well.
EDIT: Also, it seems to be dependent on how many pages the thread has - as an example, the totally off topic thread is especially painfully slow, whereas this thread isn't so much.

Don't you all realise that this website is hosted on a laptop connected to the QP WiFi?
It's a wonder it works at all!

I know that our Data Centre did have some issues on Thursday afternoon, which impacted performance.

But I'm not aware of anything else which could be effecting server performance. I have asked our server administrator to investigate and will keep you all posted.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused

There doesn't seem to be anything obvious on the server which is impacting on performance. It could be a network issue.

If you are experiencing poor response times, could you please send me (admin) a PM with your "Trace Route". Windows users can get this by clicking on the Windows button (bottom left of screen), then in the "search programs and files" box enter "run", then "cmd", then "tracert australianfreqentflyer.com.au". Then please send the image of the resulting screen to me.

This will help us identify where any problem is. Apprecfiate your help!

On a mac go to /Applications/Utilities/Network Utility.app

And you’ll end up with something like this:

Code:

I’m not having any problems at the moment by the way.

Been very slow from the US , but then that might be in a maintenance period overnight in the US.

This morning I couldn't browse it at all.
