Just wondering if anyone else who took advantage of the KLM / Air France status match received an email looking for contact details - its it legit or some sort of spam? I received my card / tags in the mail, so they already have my address.

Good afternoon,

We are updating our Flying Blue database.

Could you kindly send me your current home address?

Many thanks
Kind Regards.
Deborah ALAMPI – Marketing Assistant
AIR FRANCE KLM
Australia, New Zealand

I would either ring them or e mail them via there website and ask if this is legit e mail.

It sounds strange.

Yes, I got one of those too, about a week ago. I haven't replied.

The same email is in my inbox still. was debating on replying..

Consider what they are asking for. Why would they want you to send them your home address?

Shonky as.

I would give them a call and ask them if its real, the contact is real as far as location and job description goes.

If it is a genuine request, why would they not ask you to go to your profile and update it?

Who knows, but ringing Miss/Ms/Mrs Alampi in Sydney would give you an answer, the fact the email has a real person in the Sydney office suggests to me its real, she has only been there since March so perhaps is not across systems?

Got one of these about a week ago. Straight to the trash. Why would they ask me to provide my address vial email when it's already available on my profile? Seems dodgy to me.

It is legit I believe. I've had dealings with Deborah including a few invites to Air France FF do's in Melbourne (including a Bastille day do). Alas i've not been able to attend them due to prior travel commitments, but it's legit from what I can gather!

I too was concerned; so I sent a return e-mail stating just that and asking why they needed my home address when they had recently sent me my card. Today I received the following e-mail...

Good morning J----,

Many thanks for your quick reply.

I actually do have access to the Flying Blue account of all the members.

But I can't update the details if they are not current anymore. Customers have to go on their account on the website to update their details.

I have asked all the addresses in order to double check if they were correct.

We often organize events so need your home address to send invitations. Also in order to receive the latest information or promotion it's important to have your current address.
.......

Don't remember getting it but then I usually "file" a lot of emails

I got the email on 27 July. Thought it was a bit strange, bug suspected it may be genuine.

Have not responded as did not want to take any risk, too many online scams these days.

Despite good intentions, for a large organisation, it's alarming they would think this type if email would not ring alarm bells! But then again alot of 'marketing' people don't really have a clue when it comes to the real world lol.
