SMH: Air France jet clips tail of plane at JFK airport

I would be interested to see if the failure to stop clear of the taxiway was indicated on the SMC radar, but in general I agree with JB747 in terms of where the fault lays, it appears from the video that ground traffic caused the premature stop and this should have been reported. The official investigation will make for interesting reading and no doubt, there as always, will be a number of factors at play.

I have flown on a Delta Comair plane btn JFK and boston.

That would have been scary as anything. I dont know why those little planes dont go from LGA.

JFK is chaotic and has mostly international flights.

Fault...well, at the end of the day, if you run into the back of someone in your car, it is always your fault, no matter what stories you can think of to try to justify it. Same applies in an aircraft...if you run into something whilst you are moving under power, it's your fault..

That is simply not true. Not with cars and not with aircraft. A moving aircraft that collides into a stationary one is not always at fault. The tragic SAS crash in Italy 2001 is just an example. Linate Airport disaster - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

That is simply not true. ...
In the context of this incident it may be.

The tragic SAS crash could be an example the the exception proving the rule.

Aside from that, there is nothing indicate the Citation was stationary, let alone any chance of the SAS Pilot being able to see it.

Yeh, well, perhaps I should have said taxiing. I would have thought that was pretty obvious from the context anyway.

The problem then is if you're wanting to connect to or from one of those international flights...
