SMH: Air France jet clips tail of plane at JFK airport

At first I thought the AF pilot might like to learn to drive better, but it sounds more like the ATC didn’t space the planes adequately.

Not liking their colour scheme for it though, way too much white.

The first class photos made it look very open too… I thought it was business at first.

Maybe Air France are training their staff in the same way as V Australia!

Although V Aus hit a wall... Twice... So clearly a small difference ;)

If you ever needed reason as to why you should keep your seatbelt on till the sign is off - there it is!!!!!!!!

Incredible video and glad no one was injured.

Wow, did you see that Comair plane spin around like a little toy!!!

Wonder what type of damage was done to both planes?

Jeez, I wouldn't call that "clipping"... would have been a wild ride inside that Comair plane!

Have just seen the video and listed to the ATC tapes at the time. From the sounds and looks of things (there were also photos available), the tail of the Embraer CRJ is toast.

And yes, the video from the terminal of the collision is bloody spectacular. A380 treats the CRJ like a kids toy.

And how many of us here now hold status with Air France??? Thank god we didn't have to fly them to get it!

I'll confess to giggling ... that'll buff out!! :D

OK OK it's terrible, feel sorry for the poor people in the CRJ, will be serious about it now..

That wasn't just a clip!! The Comair was turned 90 degrees rather quickly:shock:

Exactly! If you were in the 388 then yes it would have seemed like a clip but if you were in the CRJ then it would have seemed like something completely different!

Amazing.

You’d have thought SkyTeam wouldn’t be taking out one of their own ;)

If push came to shove in the Australian market, perhaps an QF-A380 will take out a V jet in this accidental way lol.

Imagine if the FAs were doing the safety demo when they spun around.

Fun aside, hope no one was seriously injured.
