Qantas wine poor shipping quality

Our six Croser bottles arrived this morning, brought into the building lobby, and upon opening, packed properly. I feel we have been lucky.
Not in my experience. Never had a problem with damaged goods.

OTOH, I've had the wine delivered to a completely different address. Luckily it was an an aquaintance of mine (!) who lived at the same house number, but a street down from me. Otherwise I'd be filing a no show complaint, and who knows where that might've ended up..

Qantas wine has gone down majorly downhill since the change to Aramex. I had ordered two dozens over a week ago and only now finally got them- it used to take two to three days in the past with AusPost. And my box came shredded (the bottles inside were undamaged which was a surprise) and to top it all off, that Aramex driver I always get has a real issue with personal hygiene. Gosh, he stinks whenever I have to come close to sign for my orders! 🤢 View attachment 482095
Are they only using Aramex for some parts of Australia? All the Wine I've purchased from them has been shipped with Australia Post.

Strange, all of my deliveries in Sydney were always shipped with Australia Post. I'm not sure why they are shipping yours with Aramex then and not with Australia Post.
Dunno. If it makes any difference, I'm about 30km out of the city centre

I'm in Melbourne and have a delivery with Aramex at the moment. The absolute worst shipping company in Australia. Was at work so no delivery made now I will have to trapse multiple suburbs over to be able to collect it from one of the 2 collection points in all of Melbourne (going past multiple closer bottle shops that I could have gotten it from closer).

If this had not been for getting a green leaf and I didn't have a PC discount code I would never order from them normally.

I had a delivery from Aramex last week (not Qantas) - luckily was home when it arrived.

OMG I think I dealt with them about 20 years ago, though under a different name. I used to buy wine through Grays Online and they decided to switch from Aus Post to these guys. I had to go to Port Melbourne to collect my package and drove around forever, with zero signage offered by the company to help find them. Never bought from Grays again.

Aramex bought a couple of local Australian courier companies as part of some kind of global expansion something like 10-15 years ago. I think they’re based in Dubai or thereabouts.

My experience with them has generally been ok but I don’t think I’ve ever had the misfortune to not be home when they came. Maybe once they left some wine at my gate but I got home within a few minutes of that.

I just received a delivery of 6 bottles of Soave. Arrived packed in a generic cardboard box with no dividers. But in this case the generic box was not a Qantas one and was sealed with glue as well as tape. So packed by the winery not by Qantas.

Aramex delivered at 7.40am - a bit early for my liking.
Aramex delivery when they feel like it. The last order l had was got an email on Saturday and it was delivery Sunday Morning.

Person l find Australia Post a bit more constant but depends who's delivery the good. If it's sub contractor could be random times.

To me the biggest difference is what happens when a delivery is missed (not the mention the times it has come through Aramex and I have been home all day and nobody buzzed my apartment, but they apparently "attempted delivery"). If it's with Australia post most people in the city have a post office pretty close to them, if it's Aramex there are 2 options in the whole of Melbourne.

The lack of pick up spots is not great. But I’ve had many times when I’ve been home all day and gone to the mailbox to find an Aussie Post card in there….

Aramex bought out fast way corners in 2016, who has been around since 1983 initially staring as HB couriers, they didn’t have much of a reputation before the takeover.!

I ordered 6 boxes of 6 wines on the 8th of October. I did order Arila Gardens Barossa Single Vineyard Grenache 2023 which does have one of the best points to purchase ratio. I called on the 15th of October 2026 to follow up on the order. Apparently there were many customers calling up on their order. Would hate to wonder how if your the last person to call. Do they just cancel your order? Note the order was placed across 2 orders with other wine.

On the 16th of October 2026 the first order had two tracking codes with Australia Post. I can clearly see them and expect to receive them this week. One of these parcel were the Arila Gardens.

On the same day I had 3 tracking orders from Aramex. 2 show movement and one has no moment no scan nothing. All 3 are from Arila Garden. I called Qantas Wine today and they told me call them back at the end of the week to clarify what to do. I did warn Qantas Wine that with picked up from sender or any tracking from Aramex the wine has been lost.

Aramex is the worst for delivery. I remember I order 3 parts from Dyson sent in different packages but from the same location. All 3 were received by Aramex but all 2 were delivered months apart and one went missing. At one stage if there was no tracking within 48 hours I knew the goods were gone. Also they leave the delivery right in front of my door so you can't even open the door.

Australia Post might be slow but you will get it sooner or later. Australia Post uses a bit more common sense and put the wine behind the tree next to my door.

They must have saw Swift and Shift Couriers on SBS One and thought we should copy this.
