Qantas - Emirates Award flight Discussion

Dumb question alert for the brains trust: Is it possible to make a standalone Qantas classic rewards booking with Emirates from Malta to Larnaca (Cyprus)? Either by calling Qantas, or somehow online.

I can't get Malta to appear as a destination unless I start with a multi-city first leg in Rome FCO, but the routing is bad (from Rome, to London, then on to Malta), and charges don't make it worth it.

So glad I found this thread, I thought QF (or EK) had tightened up seats or something. For instance, DXB-KWI is a route that always has EK F seats, but I couldn't see any seats for months.

Yeah and I feel better knowing it's not just me.. but I dont think this will be fixed IMO

I think it will - I would find it hard to believe QF would make this change without an announcement.

Not yet - As my dates are just outside where you can currently book which is about mid June. I still have a month to go as I'm looking at mid July out of Australia.

Seems DXB-SYD is also fixed with Y seats everyday.... but F and J no-where to be seen

Nothing has been fixed. As I mentioned, only flights with Qantas sharecode can be booked, but F seat is not included. Under Qantas Table rules, the F seat will never appear until they get the problem fixed. The seats are sitting in their system but just can't be seen by anyone. So if you are hoping to find a F seat, better to fill up a complaint form as well to push them moving quickly.

I don't see why QF would deliberately restrict these, as it's not even their own inventory they're selling.
