I am trying to book emirates first class from sydney to Christchurch using qantas points, but i cannot see literally any availability!! do we know when this issue will be fixed? and are the seat availability guaranteed to be returning? Gyoza flights posted today that the seats have returned, but i am looking and theyve returned but only on certain routes!!

Still not fixed yet. You should send a complain to Qantas via the contact form so they can speed up the fix.

Doubt it,

The official response to a "media outlet" was

"QF media team who confirmed no change in policy on first awards with EK. They also pointed out that award space is controlled by EK"

Some weirds things going on.
Air Canada aeroplanes removed emirates seats on rewards. Business & first.
Qantas around a month ago removed the availability to book first class with reward for a flight within 6 days. (Without any announcement). Now since around 3 days they removed all first class from system, while they correctly updated the price on 5 August for first (lot of options was showing). If it was a coding issue why was it working ? And why first only ? And why aeroplan would have removed it too?
Seem like someting bad going on.

My personal opinion will be that it will no longer be possible, except in extremely rare circumstances, to book a First class Emirates flight with Qantas points ever again.

And I wouldn't be surprised if Business class follows suit in a few months.

I am happy I managed to book, with old rates, just before the devaluation.

Didn’t EK rewards seats come down (or maybe effectively stayed about the same) because they moved to the better QF rate?

Well, at least on paper. Academic if you can’t find them.

I'm still hoping it's a system issue and the emirates first class seats will show up on qantas website again

You should receive a reply from their Customer Care Team shortly and tell you they are aware of this issue and have raised your feedback with the relevant team for further review. But they are unable to provide a resolution timeframe. That's what I had been told twice.

Is it possible to book over the phone at all? Someone said on another thread the first class availability is still in Qantas' inventory and bookable over the phone.

I hope that's not the case. Got a booking in J for next May which I'm hoping to change to a F closer to the date

Certainly some weird sh$t going on. Out of curiosity, I’d been looking at random dates over the last couple of days to see what, if anything is out there. Often you’ll see days with Biz CR seats SYD-DXB but it’s QF to BLR and then EK to DXB. In this example, it showed “J” on the calendar view but clicking through, it’s EK F. You won’t see “F” just searching BLR-DXB….

Apparently they are in the inventory and if you call you can book over the phone

Received a reply from their rewards ticket team this morning and they were surprised that not a single Emirates F seat could be fund in their system too. "It does seem unusual there in no first class availability." What I can confirm ATM is the issue had been raised to both their IT and rewards team.

I can see plenty of EK F SYD-CHC from 17 Aug thru to #5 Jun 26.

Edit: but only appears on the multi-city search…

Yes, I've been looking at alternative routing as well.
Found the same. Just adds a sector via Bangalore.
Still looking at other routing options.
I'll give it a couple more days, then just book/pay direct with Emirates.
These games are getting tiresome.

I have given up with these games from EK and just paid for seats for July 2026 with SQ in J

Would have rather burnt some of the 2 Million QF points on EK F and J
