Beef brisket, tender but very much needed the spicy sauce and pickle condiments

Ice cream sandwich very underwhelming, cookie bitter and too hard. Ended up just eating the icecream - avoid this one

My last visit to the MEL F lounge a couple of months ago I posted as a total disaster which I put down to the time of day. My Beef Brisket you could have used to resole your shoes. The S&P squid always seems to be the same no matter the time of day because it is cooked fresh and not sitting for hours waiting to be served like the beef. QF obviously have KPI's on wastage so the food that should be disposed of is still served to "F" lounge attendees, despite being well past the use by time after its preparation.

I’ve never been to the MEL F lounge but why do pics always have a blue hue to them?
It's the windows. The lounge gets a lot of afternoon sun as it's more West facing and I think there's a bit of a UV coating on the windows.

I have a bit of a bone to pick (no pun intended) with the execution of the galbi-jjim ssam.

The whole idea of 'ssam' is that one make wraps, in this case using the lettuce leaves. But every time I've had it, it's been dry, quite lacking in flavour, and the lettuce leaves have been afterthought side garnish that aren't big enough to wrap anything!!

The vegetarian bibimbap they had on the breakfast menu shortly after the ICN route launch was so much better.

The irony is that the dish is supposed to be braised, so the longer it's kept cooking on a low heat, the more tender it gets. It's very possible your brisket actually wasn't cooked long enough.

If it's meant to be eaten wrapped in the lettuce then seems no point in serving with rice.

It was the only beef option.

The rice can also be wrapped in the lettuce. I'm not Korean, and far from an expert on Korean food, but I think this is a pretty decent explainer.

Dry and like leather - overcooked. Undercooked is still moist and has some softness. Too long on the heat.

Max's shiraz in an F lounge? Not that I'll ever find myself with access to this lounge, but please tell me the wine offering improves after breakfast...

SYD F was quite hungry so went with the signature breakfast, probably a poor decision on my part should have stuck with eggs Benedict, was bit dry and overcooked.

Been years since I’ve been in SYD F, service has been very efficient and attentive even though it’s packed this morning not a dining table free, I much prefer the tranquility of the MEL lounge.

Nope.

There is normally three types of champagne on offer (not on menu) and some slightly better wines offered only to F/P1/CL.

Yep, that breaky option has always been a bit iffy. Probably mostly all precooked and sitting in Bain Maries.
