I'll be the one dissenter here. I'm not that fussed over the PJ's (I will take them to give away if they are handing them out). I have worn the top, but certainly not the pants. Before they used to give out PJs (which was also before I used to travel in J) I always used to change into a light t-shirt and loose shorts for sleeping and I still do that - as I find it more comfortable. In any event most of the flights I take are either on SQ or flights where QF don't hand out PJs (eg QF10 SIN-MEL). Or now a lot of them will be in Y.

No chance with me.
In fact, even if QF did have PJs that fit me, I still wouldn't wear them on board because I still cannot bring myself to wearing PJs in public - aircraft cabin included. If I'm wearing a business attire, that's what I sleep in on board. So, if the aircraft goes tech and I have to go into the terminal building, I certainly won't be in PJs

I always wait to hear what the FAs will say when they are asked to "disarm doors".
FA: "My what a wonderful door you are. You know I've never seen a door as amazing as you!"

AFAIK the act of disarming the doors is just that... Turning off the trigger for the explosive charge that inflates the slides when the exit is opened in an emergency.. (hence the disarm and cross check!

Just watched a film called the "wedding Crashers" trans-tasman - plenty of disarming going on there ... similar to what you described, but far more oganic ...

Not that I have heard the term 'cross check' on QF for some time. I think DJ do it.

I read a snippet in the paper a couple of years ago, that an announcement (quite possibly Freudian in nature) advised the crew to "disarm the doors and cross-dress".

Yep I can't recall the last time I heard the captain ask the FA's to cross check - all I hear is "cabin crew please disarm doors".

Heard it on departure from Syd to Lax, can't say I heard it on return to cross check
They only do it on the Embraer's. I would imagine you don't need to do it on a 737? No idea to be honest but it seems to be that no-one cross-checks on one.
