Really appreciate your prompt & helpful advice. Thank youYes, you can, just call and change it.
Dont say 'upgrade', say you want to remove the Y leg and add an available J leg on the existing booking.

DOH-PER?(bronze) I'm unable to search online for this leg.
Can anyone advise from personal experience if/how they achieved success in booking J DOH-PER?(bronze)
I'm unable to search online for this leg. Looking for flights after 23/10/20
Go to AA.com>Your trips/check in, and enter name and PNR.... My question is, how to I seat select on AA? ...
Thank you so much to Brianflyer and blu. There are 2 ways you can search for availability:
1. try an alternative Oneworld program, e.g. BA or JAL, which may be indicative of availability with Qantas
2. try searching for a return award with Qantas, using Flexible dates so you can select an outward (dummy) date and your actual return date.
If you find anything, you will have to call to book.
We're halfway through booking a OWA Classic Business atm. Booked QF across to DFW, AA up to ANC (economy sadly), and JAL from LAX back to SYD. Plenty more AA to book internally once they become available.
My question is, how to I seat select on AA?
As a QF customer, QF is fine. JAL allow me to use the QF booking ref and seat select there no probs. AA allow me to open the booking, but tell me to contact QF to seat select. QF tell me to contact AA.
Anyone got any ideas on how to seat select on AA as a QF/OWA customer?
Thank you so much, you are so right. If you spend a few days in DOH, it is a stopover, not a married segment.
FWIW: QR flights to/from Australia are becoming increasingly difficult to get.
I have a similar issue getting home from Singapore. Planning on using LM which are appearing good value even in economy, much cheaper than buying a one way economy ticket.Economy is fine (as I'm paying not using points). Need return flights HKG - Melb:
Arriving HKG (from Europe) @ 2035hrs on 22/4.
Dept HKG @ 2345hrs on 28/7
... I'm not getting a lot of options from YYC ...
Unless QF can see it, you won’t be able to book it as a QF Award, of course....Has anyone had any experience landing an AA award that doesn't appear on the QF website?
AA has been selling revenue tickets DFW-YYC and vv, across the board. There is also good availability with AA Business/First Aanytime, but these are of no use for the QF Business Awards. There have been no Milesaavers available on AA flights for this route during at least May-August that I’ve seen, for example.
Yes, awards aren't always released to partners. If you want to be sure it isn't a QF error, check on another OW partner such as BA or JL.What I'm seeing is Milesaaver awards available on the AA site, and no similar Classic awards available for the same flights on the QF site.
Has anyone seen this before?
Are they claiming you’re breaking the rule about city/country of departure:Hi Team *is someone PLEASE able to run their eye over the below for me before I go insane. I've been fighting with Qantas for over two days, over multiple formats. I just want to make sure I'm not missing something.
I have the following booked
Stopover one: DBO-SYD-HKG-DEL
Stopover two: DEL-DOH-AMM
Stopover three: AMM-CAI
Stopover four: CAI-AMM-FCO
Stopover five: FCO-DOH-JFK-DFW-CUN
Home: CUN-PHX-LAX-SYD-DBO
I want to add the bold underlined flights
After being told there's no availability (there is), there are 8 stopovers (there's 5), theres also 16 sectors as needed, now they are saying they are absolutely NOT able to add the return SYD-DBO flight or it changes from a Oneworld Award, and they want to charge me over ONE MILLION points extra (500+k pp). They have arranged to organise the rest for me and said they'll follow up but its likely I'll have to pay for that last flight myself. Can ANYONE see why this would be the case???
I tried telling them the OWA will calculate back to the origin point anyway so it can't possibly be miles that is pushing us over the edge for that final flight (the circle mapper said around 33,000 can't remember exactly now). It is possible that because the LAX flight technically arrives two days later in Aus that the OWA itinerary system is having difficulties? Thus classing the leg as a 6th stopover even though it leaves within 24hrs of the LAX-SYD flight landing?
Otherwise I've got nothing...
Yeh I've asked them quite blunty and on a number of occasions to explain to me why they are getting an error and they refuse to acknowledge my request - they just keep saying it brings about an error and I'll have to deal without it...Are they claiming you’re breaking the rule about city/country of departure:
A Classic Flight Reward Itinerary must contain no more than one departure from the city or country of first departure on that Itinerary.
Perhaps they’re claiming the second ”departure” from SYD is a breach? FWIW I don’t think you are.
Alternatively, have you asked them which term you’ve breached?
Obviously this might be a HUACA situation.Yeh I've asked them quite blunty and on a number of occasions to explain to me why they are getting an error and they refuse to acknowledge my request - they just keep saying it brings about an error and I'll have to deal without it...
Thanks for the validation though.
Thanks Captain,Obviously this might be a HUACA situation.
The other thing I suggest if they won’t tell you the term you’ve breached it to ask them sequentially a specific question for each rule. Eg. Can you please tell me to total mileage? Can you please tell me the number of sectors in the booking?
That might help narrow down where the problem is.
