Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Price on this is now showing as $163.50 /bottle.
Wait and see what they do with orders already received I guess.
It has changed now. Maybe it's a genuine mistake but could be a devious way of getting contact details for people willing to spend at least moderate amounts on wine

As posted in the chardonnay thread, Cellar One have $20 off $100 spend until next Monday, making it $40 off after including $20 referral credit :)

Cellardoor.co also have sale finishing this Sunday that besides chardonnay, includes Seppelt Drumborg Vineyard Museum Release Riesling 2012 for $26

Unfortunately it was a price error and they only had a few bottles in stock - almost all orders will be cancelled, including mine, with affected customers receiving a phone call in due course :(

Just received my refund & cancellation call - bugger!

Not sure you can advertise a product you actually do sell - have orders placed online and payment effected - then just say sorry mistake here is your money back? You guys just going to cop this?
I will.
It doesn't look like a big business, was clearly a mistake and the offer is easy-come easy-go for me.
Quite understand others feeling differently

If they have no stock - and none is expected to arrive in the near future - then what can one do?

I believe that they are honouring the price for the orders that could be fulfilled

FYI It's not a small business

They are the retail arm of Red+White/Casama. Majority of big hotels and restaurants stock their portfolio.

I'm not a lawyer but my understanding is that if it's a typo or genuine mistake they're permitted to wind back the transaction. If it's been advertised (as in an actual advertisement, flyer or promotion not just listed on their site) it gets more complicated and I think they need to honour purchases made before a correction.
Plenty of larger stores will take the hit and honour the mistake rather than risk bad PR.

Seems like FWC screwed up on a couple of levels in this case - why was their website taking orders for stock they don't have regardless of price?

Edit:
FWC's policy on this as listed in their T&C:

Cancellation Due to Error
You acknowledge that despite our reasonable precautions, products may be listed at an incorrect price or with incorrect information due to a typographical error or like oversight. In these circumstances, we reserve the right to cancel the transaction, notwithstanding that your order has been confirmed and your credit card has been charged. We reserve this right up until the time of delivery of goods or supply of the services to you. If a cancellation of this nature occurs after your credit card has been charged for the purchase, we will immediately issue a credit to your credit card account for the amount in question.

Note: T&Cs like this are not necessarily legally binding and you could still argue the case if you really wanted but hardly seems worth it

I half suspect they made a pricing error and don't want to supply. If you were one of the first to order, which looking tat the thread you were, they probably would have had stock to complete your order. Technically you have a contract so can sue for performance and they probably have to source the stock. I had a long running similar argument with a different supplier years ago with a wine I bought at auction and which knew they could source if they have to but they didn't want to take a hit. In the end I let it go and never used them again.

Was any order not knocked back?

I was offered the Fleur de Champagne (about half the price of Femme) at the same price - noted its now $50 on their site - still a good deal but half the value of the Femme is not ideal :(. Will probably be declining the offer.

For those taking up the $20 off $100 Cellar One offer, it works for multiple orders, so split your orders accordingly.

So did anyone’s order actually go through? Seems they realised and declined all purchases regardless of stock

I’m not suggesting any foul play here in particular but what an interesting way to increase your subscriber base.
