I have booked to go from SYD-TXL on QF.

QF1 to LHR and then BA is operating to TXL.

Does anyone know if the QF operated flight will still be eligible for double status? The person I spoke to on QFF live chat seems to say that only booking where the entire trip is operated by QF will be eligible, however the T&C's say otherwise.

This was due to the poor attention to detail by QF, but more importantly, the QF J fares being increased due to the DSC promo ...

J fares on a route I often fly increased not long before the current DSC and also before the one earlier this year. That gave me an inlking something was in the offing.

QF live chat person is wrong, which is not an isolated incident.

Also several times during this promo. The fare i got for return LHR J was gone up substantially since the promo started. Increased over $2.5k so far. Im sure we will see it drop like anything in a weeks time.

Admittedly the QF fares for me only increased by $30 (well $31 to be exact) from what they were last month, but last month they were $150 dearer than VA ... now $180, well at some point the camel bows!

Hey, we all play the game. I can't begrudge a company maximising their profit ... but surely that same company can't begrudge me telling them to F... off!

Next week, VA will do something equally as pathetic and I'll tell them the same thing ... hence my decision to keep both broody mares in the stable! When one cracks the sulks, the other is there to take me to work!

is it just me? i'm trying to book SYD-MEL-DPS return, but the return leg only gave me 40 SC

Does anyone happen to know if you would earn DSCs for a comfort seat? In other words, can I get 4x SCs by booking a ticket with a comfort seat during this promo?

I was thinking exactly the same thing ha.

If this worked, I could earn 720 SCs flying LHR-AKL-LHR (via SIN and SYD/MEL/BNE each way) in discount Y with a comfort seat. The normal fare is $1317 return but the comfort seat would cost either $304 or $1,025, depending on whether the "QF YQ Surcharge" is excluded from the price of the second seat.

It should do.

Have you tested this?

It has worked for a member of QS family about 2 years ago during a DSC offer.
Effectively 4x SC for a SYD-HKG return in Y

I looked at this last promo and the GCC assured me, yes. My obstacle was that you can't book comfort seats for QF on JQ, but logically, the answer is yes (but untried).

Have not booked ( looking at Business with QF oneworld alliance as I am P1 and in the race) anything yes need to get to Las Vegas next year early May. Should I drive up from LA enjoy the country side on the way?

I wondered this too in the other thread, especially in J. Hope someone tries and reports back. Decided I didn’t want to run the risk of getting only 3x rather than 4x so have booked my runs without the comfort seat.

Looks like it's base fare only.

See here.

Edit:

I checked out one of the links posted in that thread: Link

You can earn Qantas Points for the extra seat subject to current Frequent Flyer terms and conditions.

Does this include SC?

Normally, yes.

For DSC, I can't recall anyone confirming they have tried it. I have been previously told yes (by the GCC), but the way QF change their mind on SC application, I think the only way to find out for sure is to try it.
