It seems wrong and I also asked a customer service officer through chat, he also said that wrong calculation should be the right one.

No problem. Just ring another customer service officer, and you should get a different answer.

Cheers skip

There are benefits and detractions to any course of action and whilst you are ruing the loss of the DSC's, I think a saving in the vicinity of yours @dacom wholly outstrips that loss ;).

I'd hate to think that there is any unconscionable conduct by QF that they raised fares just prior to the advent of the DSC, particularly International J & F fares. That woudl be an interesting class action.
Book 2 x one way. If the prices drop, cancel and re-book return flight at lower price, using voucher. DSC's based on orignal PNR date. Keep other voucher for rainy day, also good for DSC's.

Just booked a trip to Europe in late November in Premium Economy. SYD-LHR-OSL-ARN-LHR-SIN-SYD with QF and BA. Was planning this trip and would retain Platinum anyway but will get me over the line with several months to spear.

I am really worried that Qantas is basically give out Gold and Platinum so easily that the lounges will become more crowded than ever.

Yes good for profit as bring more money in the short run but painful for everyone in the long run.

A europe business class return that almost gets you platinum is amazing. No other OW airline will give out OWE on that kind of flying.

On the contrary, while I agree crowding sucks, poor usage of lounges could contribute to failure to upgrade/retain them. Having flown regularly in Perth during the boom, I know how crowding feels (amplified by high-vis).

If anyone's interested (im new here so i thought i'd post this in this thread) if you book SYD-DPS from 24-28 Jan 2019 J class has a sale with 120 SC. Grand total of 480 SC for ~$1500 also it's a330 business

I may have just been lucky, but an extensive multi-city fare to Europe has been over 15% cheaper during the DSC promo than it was a week before it started. Most flights will be on EK (so no DSCs but they're not so important to me) but even if I had selected more QF flights the price was the same if not marginally cheaper. Might be a counterpoint to the concerns that fares were deliberately raised for the promo -- not that I have a problem with that.

Cutting it close! Just finished booking my flights. Ended up with SYD-MEL-AKL-SYD-DPS-SYD-AKL-MEL-SYD all in J. $1370 + $2460 for 1280 + 50 SC. Would have been cheaper if I didn't opt for a stopover in SYD on the way back. Only 1 night needed in DPS which means I don't miss any work!

Got to use my travel credit so that bought it down to $3430 for a 'localised' run and I re-qualify as WP.

I'm not sure the AY fare would qualify for QF DSC, or would it?
I'd imagine most segments would have an AY flight number.

There'd be some good DSC earned on QF segments in an AY deal, like SYD-HKG/SFO/LAX/DFW/JFK, or vice versa (and from some other AU cities), I'd say.

Not for AY fares starting in AU. Most allow quite a substantial amount of QF flying.

I have been looking at a PER-SIN one way fare (QF 71) in late November 2018 for about the last 6 weeks. It started a little pricey (upper 400ish) but when the DSC offer started it quickly went to lower 500ish. By the end of the promotion it was offered at $668.
After the promotion ended a couple of hours ago, $426......

Maybe I'll bite if it is still at that level by the end of September when serious decision time arrives. The JQ MAX fare via DPS offers the double SC but the times are awful and I need to travel further into SE Asia with lousy connections from DPS

Perhaps QF should understand why I don't respond well to the DSC promotions.

Just wandering
Fred

Isn’t that normal? Cheap fares get snapped up. Maybe only 2 seats like that on a plane?
