On the Big Island we stayed at a Luxury Collection hotel with a corporate rate of $280 USD and it was a fabulous hotel. Our sons had the adjoining room and loved it too. There was huge surf that weekend and pieces of coral flew into the swimming pool overnight.
It is one of the greatest holiday spots in the world so I hope the volcano settles down.

Gotta love India. Five days of clothes washed and pressed and returned in 4 hours - less than A$10 It would have been cheaper if I went to the shopfront laundry myself - I found later that it was right next door to the hotel!

Feeling old tonite. Just got in from Sth America. Flu still not nice.

Suffered an indignity the other day, of sorts. Was at a bar with a friend in Panama and some lasses (friends of a friend) tried to talk to me. I am not the most sociable with people initially. One of them said I reminded her of an actor - the guy in that movie "Pretty Woman". I suddenly realised she was talking about Richard Gere. NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! Am I really that old and grey now? Richard could be my grandfather

Would you be so upset if they compared you with George Clooney? There’s only 10 years age difference. I think these 2 guys are pretty much ageless and I wouldn’t be so upset. Bit like Sean Connery. Always hunky. Is it sexist saying that these days? Probably. Don’t care.

Ive become a germophobe in my old age. If you are unwell, why are you out socialising? Bed, fluids, rest. Hope you are feeling better.

My Dr has told me I've been getting very low versions of migraines, I have periods where I can't see properly... it's like having stared at the sun. Don't get headaches or anything though, so it's not too bad. Only tends to last for 20 minutes or so.

I had this for 15-20 minutes last week. Luckily I was sitting at desk in office and not driving a car. Don't quite remember if I had headache before/after.

I used to get severe headaches/migraines many years ago but thankfully don't get them very often these days.

Ive seen some footage where its under the road and seams in the road have steam coming through/before it cracks the surface.

Reminds me of the Japan earthquake where someone in a park filmed a crack and you could see the two sides moving.

My immune system attacks me as well as external enemies. As a child I never got the usual mumps chicken pox measles thing, that in my day pretty much everyone got as there were no immunisations. My brother was debilitated with mumps and chicken pox and despite ‘encouragement’ from mum, I never got. I wonder if there is a link.

You might be onto something there. I didn't get chicken pox as a child and I'm not sure about mumps and measles either. I did get chicken pox as an adult.

Which reminds me. With a young daughter I had better check if any vaccines available that may help me.

Actually it was 100% up to him, including what month we are going.

I suggested May - he said April and maybe, if the winds, clouds, Gods are happy - he might get a sliver of aurora, we will be there just at the end of their "season" so for 80EUR, I would risk a night tour.

Hes the one thats going to be scuba diving in 2c water in April in Iceland Im hot choclate girl and not the 70's album cover hot chocolate girl, more like the hugging the thermos for heat hot choc girl.

One plus - I did grab reward seat J SYD-SIN-AMS return with SQ and apparently April is Tulip time in Amsterdam.

Sometime in January someone somewhere gained access to our modem, and they've been powering through our alloted data ever since, to the tune of 5-8GB per day.
I did not become aware of it until last month, and had no warning or correspondence from our ISP.
They can't even track the traffic that was used, or where it went. They don't do that stuff unless they are issued with a warrant, which I think is a bit dicey.
At least I have registered the issue, so if Mr Plod comes knocking on my door I have that in my back pocket.
Changed modem password, wifi network ID and password this morning, after a little but of effort and we're back to a more normal 0.28GB.
Since the wife is visiting family in Mandurah and I've been at work for a few hours I think I may have managed to block the freeloaders out.
