Mum in law and a couple of her sisters bought plots together at Rookwood and mum in law bought a plot for youngest son and family.

Apparently my husband, her first born, not so important as he didnt produce the only grandchild :)

Im not fussed (hubby and I are not being buried) other than its a granite and marble monument section so $$$$ if you want to move in. Must say, my mum in law chose a nice design for dad in laws plot.

I think a small plot in Sydney's Rookwood Cemetery is close to $20,000. Not sure if you need to pay more for a plot with unexpected deaths.
I have lost the ploto_O

Easy just get cremated and scatter the ashes.

Or maybe Tesla guy will shoot ashes capsule into deep space. Wonder how much that will cost.

I’ll have my LTG status on the plaque

Indeed. People say they have the flu but if they are upright and merely coughing sneezing or a bit unwell then they have a simple respiratory infection. If you’ve had the flu you know it. I’ve not had it either.
I've had the flu or as doctors like to say "I've had flu like symptoms". It's not fun but life doesn't stop to wait.

I’ve found if it’s the true flu then that’s what Doctors call it. Flu like symptoms aren’t a diagnosis.

Already plotting for Amsterdam (next year). Can you ever had too much cheese?

If anyone has any Amsterdam hotel recommendations, please advise.

I'm undecided on what some doctors think today. If I'm sick I need antibiotics as that usually gets me back on board quickly.

Daughter sick now almost 2 weeks. Went to GP who checked her temperature, waffled on a little how everything is viral and gave her some cortisone for 3 days. We gave it to her for 5 days but she is still sick.

Wife sick a day or so later and started course of Amoxil. Within 2-3 days of starting Amoxil she feels much better and she has been fine for 3-4 days.

I also got sick a day or so after that and I'm still sick as I decided not to take any medicine. Quite a bad cough and past 3-4 days ears have become somewhat blocked. This morning I took a prednisolone tablet to try and help with ear infection.

I'm 54 years old. This is the second time I've had a bad cold this year. My immune system issues are not helping me get better. I don't care if I overuse antibiotics.

It getting harder and harder to see a specialist doctor ...when the population grows and the GP's numbers are the same.
But you need to see a good doctor and a Peadiatrician for your little one. 54 your still youngish and need appropriate treatment.

My conversations with Pediatricians especially warn about giving steroi_s. Not to do it. The evidence out there does not back up it's use in small kids.

Well this is a bit awkward. In addition to packing up for a 4 week jaunt I’m also emptying rooms ready for crackwork etc to be done while we are away. I’d often thought the chair from Ikea in our bedroom was a little on the low side. It comes in a flat pack kind of. I’d put it together. It’s a nice chair just exercises the leg muscles getting down and up again. So this chair was removed today and I turned it upside to manoeuvre. There, in a plastic bag attached to the base are four wooden legs. Oops. Now, are the slightly higher legs in the front or back?

Yes, the Drs may chime in but steroi_s are nasty things unless there is advanced causes like problematic asthma. The rheumatologist I see tried to wean adults off or down as soon as possible and she sees some pretty desperate cases.

Hope your tiling skills were better than your chair assembly ones! :p:D:rolleyes:

You're probably right. My parents will get a referral for pediatrician in Sydney and take the little one along.

ATMs. It seems like every time I use an ATM it’s been changed. And from bank to bank they all look completely different. So how the heck are we supposed to be ‘vigilant’ about things like hidden cameras when we don’t even know what the original product should look like.

In my past life in Customs we had a visit from a U.S. Secret Service agent who was in W.A. for talks on counterfeiting. She had some fascinating photos of devices that had been attached to ATM's in order to skim details of your account, password etc. It would have been very difficult to spot them.

A few years ago I received a call from the Police. I had used a NAB ATM near my home about 12 months earlier. They asked if I remembered anyone unusual hanging around. Lord, I barely remember what I did yesterday let alone at an ATM 12 months prior. Anyway it turned out that my transaction had occurred at around the same time as a huge scam was happening through this very ATM and the timing meant I must have seen the person who’d done it. As in standing behind me. Oh well. But it’s interesting how they traced me back and were able to contact me. It was mentioned in the media at the time but until the call I had no idea I was that close to it.

Unless the person behind me was dressed in a dinosaur costume I wouldn't remember them 5 minutes after the transaction - if that long. It would have been pretty easy to trace you as the ATM would have a timed record of every transaction and the card used. Plus of course your bank would have the contact details for that account.

Amsterdam is extremely well serviced by chain hotels - all of which are pretty good and very reasonably priced. It's a bit like London though - I'd be staying away from the two and three star non-chains (unless you have a very good recommendation). Some of them can be very basic. Or grotty. Just like London (think Earls Court, Paddington or Bayswater!)

Amsterdam is so small and easy to get around that you can even stay in Amsterdam South and only be a 15 minute tram ride from the centre (but the centre is more fun of course!)

Just beware that hotel prices in Amsterdam can skyrocket. For the international dog show on in Amsterdam this August the Novotel which is usually $150 a night is commanding $700 a night. All other hotels are equally full and with prices getting up there. That can happen at other times when there are big events on. If you can't decide on a hotel right now I'd recommend booking a full-flex rate at a Mercure or something which you can keep in your back pocket and cancel if you find something better later.
