Qantas fare not able to upgrade

Just had a flight booked to NZ by company I'm going to work for and can't find an upgrade link anywhere on MMB. Are some places able to stop you upgrading?

Some international fare buckets are non-upgradeable.

I came across this yesterday with a return trip TSV. Put it down to a last minute booking .... even though there were plenty of J seats free.

1) Is your frequent Flyer Number in the booking? If not can you add it? (Sometimes a call to QFF is required.)

2) Failing that, go to Frequent Flyer - Your Bookings and fill out the "Upgrade a Family Member", entering your details.

I had to my FF number to the booking which I did first thing this morning and it wouldn't let me do anything but just checked and was able to request the upgrade so it may have just taken it's time in the background. Fingers crossed and thanks for all the suggestions
