The totally off-topic thread

Maybe team building was the wrong phrase!

We are a small very close team who are fiercely competitive with each other no matter what we do - but always in fun. Something like a panic room 'game' would be great amusement value.

We went to the Newcastle, "unexpected exit - escape rooms" 6 of us. Basic, but fun.
split over 2 rooms. 3 pax in each. Us 3 females blindfolded, (took off after door closed) cuffed by 1 hand to the wall. In the other room our partners.
We had - a magnet on a rope, intercom to next door, a locked box with the key to our handcuffs in it.
We had to work with each other to get the codes to unlock all the TSA locks on everything.
They found a key, unlocked a pulley which lowered 3 torches to us. Yeh!! we can see.
the magnet dragged a small box over, next door found another code, unlocked our box, gave us ultra violet light to see codes written on the walls - this unlocked one of next doors boxes, found a code which unlocked the key to get us off the wall. So then we could open the door and then the 6 of us work together to get everything else unlocked before the bomb went off.
All sorts of clues & challengers to work out the codes to the tsa locks.

For team building I would look at something like this, as one group cannot move ahead without the other groups assistance.
If everyone in the one room, then "maybe" it would be more like a leadership/dictate what to do scenario.
We were able to break into 2's grab a clue and work on it, while the others worked on other clues.

It was fun and intend to do it again.

RIP Bill Paxton. He seems to have been very popular amongst his Peers.

On my flight to Bangkok I started watching the final series of Big Love. With a couple of episodes to go it will have a different feel knowing he has passed away.

Please do the same with golf and particularly anything to find with VFL. :)
You can say that about lots of things. This is the off-topic thread.

I was 3 down with 3 to play on Saturday and won on the 19th hole with 4 pars in a row. Still can't believe it.

This statement belongs here as much as any other statement.

But how should a bagel be shaped?

The leading part of the question was "bread" rather than "shaped like". A bagel will not have the consistency of a loaf of bread.....

I suppose if you were making them yourself you could leave out the "hole". But then there are doughnuts shaped like that result as well...

Still looking for a suitable bagel in WA while wandering

Not in my opinion. With respect, national cricket team in a test match is of interest to most Australians. Who actually has any interest in your personal game of golf? Why should there not be a thread for those obsessed with Golf to talk about their personal Golf experiences for those who maybe interested rather than the whole of AFF?

I thought there was a dedicated golf thread.. will have to do a search.

Is this what the off-topic thread is about - those topics not necessarily flying related, but not really worth a thread on its own?

While golf is totally off topic for me, I am happy to hear about how various members of our list travel on (or to) the golf course.

Happily wandering

The genus "Chrysanthemum" includes some 37 species of plants from eastern Asia.

Never give an Italian Chrysanthemums - they are considered funeral flowers. Which use to make aussie mothers day interesting.

The one time my husband ever brought me flowers, he bought a bunch of these and I wouldnt let them in the house.

Edit: I also got a bunch as a work gift and I was all smiles, thank you - then gave them to a neighbour when I got home.
