Vinomofo Wine Deals

Do people in QLD still order wine over summer with the heat? I suppose it doesn't matter too much with quaffers but I reckon the warehouse and transport trucks and vans would be hot. Having said that, with Brisbane storms lately this week isn't a total scorcher. Can I add its -26 degrees where I am this week :)

I am North Queensland, I order wine all year round never had a drama. A week or so in non ideal cellar conditions isn't going to ruin bottle.

Gladstone Pinot Noir 2013. 94pts Bob Campbell on the main page,4.5 stars and 92pts in the text and on Bobs website he gave it 4 stars!?? Pretty bad.

'of late'? No. Since they began.

Only been with them for 18 months so haven't got a potted history to compare it with, but I would have to say that they have become a tad sloppy in terms of factual info as opposed to the flights of fantasy in their wine descriptions ;)

For anyone interest and after recommendations, I highly recommend both these wines. I've tried both (well actually was the 2012 Cabernet) at the Cellar door and purchased some. Not quite at the RRP, but not far off it. I think both these wines are seriously good and an absolute bargain at this price.

I don't need more wine...but considering giving the Cabernet a whirl...

I'm far from an expert on ice wines living in Qld but I have fond memories of a Canadian ice wine by Inniskillan. It was many moons ago in London.

I was lucky enough to attend a function at Universal Wine Bar - must be 20-ish years ago. Anyhow they had 3 makers from Germany & Austria visiting & providing a very informal seminar/slurp. Such intensity & crystal clean wines.
They revealed that they had contracts with the local 'estate' owners, many of whom tended a massive 1 row of vines!
I haven't been able to taste botrytised wines without a fond memory of (& preference for) eiswein since.
In passing, although I am intrigued by some Aussie ice-wine-like-wine (they put the grapes in a freezer effectively) I have thus far resisted going there because it seems like cheating to me (sorry!) & I actually agree with the 'true' proponents that it's not the real thing & more than a little cheeky. Sincerest form of flattery, anyone?
At this point I should mention Vinomofo  Planning on the Kiwi Pinot mix - anyone tried them yet?

I boomed on this as well...had $50 credit so was $6ish /bottle
Then realised I boomed on this last month...ooops
Anybody in canberra want some at $6/bottle? Let me know!

You could give them a call and ask them to stop the order - better for them to not send it in the first place then to pay shipping in 2 directions if you end up returning it.

I agree about calling, but trying to get them to pay for a return on a second case is not exactly kosher in my book.
