Well said Whining&dining my views are on record as well. Cheers

Ha, ha. My views are on the record also! Hazzah.

No one would argue this is not a $40 wine. But plenty of wines end up on Vinomofo simply because their RRP is absurd and they can't sell the stuff. Yep, if you paid $80 for it in a restaurant you'd be hunting the sommelier with a pitchfork, but this isn't what we are talking about really, is it?

Hi Fusilli Jerry

I adore Dalwhinnie Pyrenees Cab so thought i'd take the leap of faith with the Richardson when it was initially offered. mof_ take back most of what you don't like so end of the day no harm no foul. Have to say i was more than pleasantly surprised and while not in the same pantheon as Dalwhinnie certainly better than most at $19. I also bought the Estate Red and while the Richardson doesn't have as much bling i found it more enjoyable to be honest.

Cheers

PS great episode of Seinfeld.

Try the "12 Estate Red after it's been open for 24hrs, completely different wine. Bit closed and drying initially and needs that time to open up.

HI, I am a new member....just found this discusion board while looking for reviews of Vinmofo...

I have just purchased a case of both the mof_ secret deal McLaren Vale GSM and the Norfolk Rise Mount Benson Shiraz...

Does anyone have any clues as to what the secret deal might be?.....it was on the site last night, but I cannot find it now..

I'm not sure if anyone is going to be able to help if you can't provide anything more than McLaren Vale GSM...

You wanna bet......there is this bloke on this forum who likes his wines, in fact he likes his premium wines a lot more and there is just about nothing that can stump him in guessing a wines name from a few morsels of information.
His name is .....well there are two of them. One provides many of us with pedigreed data which is gratis and he goes by the name of AC, Anonymous Coward. Very soon he will be showing us his latest corks, but I reckon the rate of cork buildup in the glass vase just aint what it used to be.

Ok...just looking at Vinmofo....because I like to get a good drop for a good price....can anyone shed some light on what these secret deals might be?

Too true. However as everyones taste buds are different a cheap wine or an expensive wine can still taste like cough. Each to their own some wines a lot of us will like and others wont. Cheers and a small footnote I wont buy wine in a restaurant at crazy prices . Better to wait till I get home so I can enjoy what I like that I bought at a reasonable price.

On the VM site, go to "Your Account" -> "Your Orders" then the specific order, then click the actual wine. You'll get taken to the ad.

Better still go to Nexday and look up based on last name and Order #, it will probably identify the wine (give it a day or two after ordering)! :)

Apologies if already been asked (couldn't see discussion on it) but any Intel on the identity of the JH 95 point / special value McLaren Vale Shiraz for $11.50/bottle?
