Hi all

Given the coupons available at Cellarmasters at the moment does anyone have any hidden gems they could recommend among the Cellarmasters brands listed on the site.
Thanks in advance.

Thank you for monitoring this ste667 - I missed out on the grey label last week, so got some just now. Just wish some of that Chateauneuf-du-Pape that wozza found came back on, that also appeared to be a genuine deal.

Out of interest - what have people's best prices been on the Blass Grey label over the last year?

Wolf Blass Grey Label Cab Shiraz 2012 is back on Cellarmasters for the $100 off promo (add a $20 decanter to enable the $100 off, or regional delivery takes you over)

Wolf Blass Grey Label Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz 2012

Also, Maverick Twins GSM 2013

Maverick Twins Barossa Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre 2013

A bit of a premium on what it's been offered for on VM in the past, but pretty close.

Recieved a Langton's Shiraz offer today. 3 bottles of the following Shiraz
- 2013 Torbreck The Sporran
- 2012 Mitolo Reiver
- 2013 Heirloom Eden Valley
- 2012 Chris Ringland Reservation

Can't say i've tried any of the above. $350 for the 12 ... anyone had first hand experience with any of the these? Does $350 seem value?

I've only had the Heirloom before, which is a nice wine (96 Halliday FWIW). Think it can be had for around $20 usually.

Believe the 2013 Heirloom Eden Valley being included is $80. They do have a Barossa version (which is $40 through vineyard and rates 96)

I'd say $350 is a fair price (if not exactly great value).
As above, Heirloom Eden Valley is $80RRP but given other wines of theirs have sold for half price, $30 for this ought to be worth investigation. Likewise for the Mitolo. The CR Reservation I've seen at BWS/Dan Murphys between about $45-65, so again $30 might be about the limit for that one.

Torbreck's Sporran typically goes for about $50, but I doubt that would be a fair price (given its a newish release and is competing with their own Struie in that range. In fact, given it doesn't turn up on their website and I think i've only seen it for sale on Cellarmasters [another woolworths entity], it may be made especially for them). $30 is about tops for value on that one too.

Would you buy the 2013 Haselgrove Switch or the Maverick Twins @ $140/doz after promo code?

I've only tried the 14 maverick which is very enjoyable. Seemed like everyone preferred the 13 tho, so it must be a good drop.

Not sure on the haselgrove, sorry.

I just ordered a case of the Maverick on the back of the 6 I have left of the 2012.

I'm kicking myself for not buying it when I had the chance from the 'Fo at $8 a bottle, but I guess $100 off is as good as I will find it. I hope the 13 is as good as the 12

Just realised that doesn't answer your question...sorry!

I have both but haven't tried the Haselgrove yet. I am a fan of the '13 twins. One of my staff has finished a case of each so I will ask for a comparison tomorrow and report back, I know she is also a fan of the twins and I recall she liked the switch but the only detail I remember was that it had loads of sedement (you sentimental about sedement Sedimental  )

Is there a thread where one can ask for advice where a particular wine can be purchased from? For example, I have searched on numerous websites / google searches to try and locate a 2013 S.C. Pannell Syrah or a 2010 Penfolds St. Henri (both hard to come by).

A thread where a poster could list a wine(s) they are currently looking.... a fellow poster may know of a store/location where one could this from which can be easily communicated (vs hours searching far and wide on google)?

That being said ... any ideas on S.C. Pannell Syrah 2013 would be appreciated (currently the only place I can find it is when I visit the top of the Rialto (Lui Bar) and Super Club). Unfortunately slightly difficult trying to negotiate a "take-away" bottle!

Given it won the Jimmy Watson, you're unlikely to find much of the Pannell available. I know I jumped on a couple of cases of it as soon as the award was announced and thought myself lucky to get it. I've not seen it at a retail outlet since that time.
