Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

I can never extract a lot of value from cellarmasters, but the promo code '1234100PROMO' (thanks, Ozbargain) is currently delivering $100 off when spending over $219 - working on champagnes. It's bringing a case of mumm down to about $28/btl after discount and cashback; Veuve comes in at a shade over $40/btl.

Nice one, carwashhair! I saw that post on OzB and skimmed past it as I didn't realise there was a generic (and such a generous) code attached to it.

Not interested in bubbly but I picked up some Nugan Manuka Grove Durif 2010. Tremendously good price for a really delicious red.

Just realised delivery adds 12 bucks to the Wolf blass and filsell so you can use the 100 dollar code. Brings them in at about 19 per bottle which I'm very happy with.

I did click and collect from a local BWS, only cost $1.20 a case.

Thanks for the heads up. Well, I'll be trying mine this evening to find out first hand.

Sigmadelta, at Bocaccio's cellars in Kew, the supermarket that Franco owns, I recently bought a 2015 Top Paddock Pinot for $10. It is stunning. So if you would like to take the time and compare one with the Hoddles creek 2015 version, I would love to read about it. As I returned to restock I couldn't help myself from asking the staff member whether both were the same thing. His reply was No, and you have to take his word.

But reading both of the reviews, the ten bucker sounds damn familiar.

Now, a favour - who are the reviewers MB and GW?

When I visisted Bocaccios in late March, I bought one bottle of actual Hoddles Creek Sauv Blanc 2015. Didn't expect to drink it that afternoon with the neighbours but all 4 of us loved it. It too was a tenner, reduced from about $18.

Good pedigree of wines has Franco.

Hi Beefarmer,

MB = Mike Bennie
GW = Gary Walsh
both of The Winefront.

I don't often get to Kew, but I will try to get hold of the top paddock. As chance would have it we had another of the estate '15 last night. I would say the aroma is interesting in a good way with a certain amount of forest floor in there. The palate is medium weight which doesn't blow me away at first and doesn't have a lot of length, but it is extremely well balanced. Some sourness, and it rounds out nicely. Not an OMFG wine but one that I would be very happy to take along to a dinner party. My partner, who is an 'oh that tastes like wine' kind of drinker :) gave a similar response as her usual. Occasionally a bottle will make her sit up but this one didn't. Maybe I should let it airfor an hour or so. Next time!

I popped into our local DM last night as we had been away on Tuesday night.
I asked if any of the stocktake items were still available. She hunted around for a list with prices and I proceeded to pick up 6 good bottles that I was happy with.

At the checkout she had to override each item as it scanned not at the stocktake price.
She was very helpful and I left a happy customer.

Seems like a number of the items have been taken off the site.

I noticed that my order still hasn't been processed yet.
This is somewhat typical of Cellarmasters! They seem to regularly post promos that they don't intend to be used for champagne (and probably some other items), someone here or on a couple of others sites (RB, OZBargain) twigs, gets a great deal, posts it and then they get hit with a number of orders. Then Cellarmasters realise they have a problem, fix the problem and sometimes people miss out on their orders.

Why they just cant get these things right first time is something only they know.

The Macarthur Square DM still have plenty of quaffer on offer. Just gotta be careful of their product placement though, picked up a bottle of 2013 Leonay which I thought was 2010. Ditto with the Tintara mixing 2010 (discounted) and 2011 (not discounted) together.

My first of several orders has been marked as "hand-picked" and I got an email that it's on the way. No movement on other orders placed shortly after the first.
Some of my subscribers have had notifications too.

The codes are still up on Cash Rewards site and are still being honoured on orders placed today. But it will be interesting to see if they let them all go through.

Finished off last bottle of Seppelt Dorrien Vineyard 1998 Cab Sav.

I notice DM have 1993 $67each for 6. i feel this is a bit overpriced

Cellarmasters seem to have stuffed this one up big time. They and Wine Market are usually pretty tight on implementing single use codes, so they know how to do it. :confused:

My first order is marked as shipped, all of several subsequent orders have now been marked as Hand Picked.

Maybe their automated systems haven't rung any alarm bells yet and no one will notice until after the long weekend. :D

I've just used the 1234100PROMO code in Cellar Masters picking up a $50 a bottle Chateauneuf du Pape for $22.50 a bottle (6 pack) with click and collect from my local BWS. And then there's the cash back on top of just over 7%:
