Re: Qantas American Express Premium card /82,500 QFF points / $249 / $3k spend 3 mont

Applied online and got a txt to call

Rang and phone rep said he'd approve whilst on hold but I wasn't eligble for the upfornt bonus points as I had ticked Y to holding the Amex card ( velocity)

I told him not to bother with the application

That's unfortunate, as it's against what every other member has experienced :(

Re: Qantas American Express Premium card /82,500 QFF points / $249 / $3k spend 3 mont

can anyone confirm what is required to receive the Qantas passes?

Re: Qantas American Express Premium card /82,500 QFF points / $249 / $3k spend 3 mont

my first spend on the card was paying a postbil for electricity through paypal as I setup the card with my paypal account.

I noticed that for this I have been give 5000 Qantas FF, anyone else experienced this?

Also, they dont allow me to make any payments on the card until my first statement, does that sound right? I setup my Direct debit on AMEX already but it wont let me use it.

Spend on purchases from the Qantas air Australia merchant, such as purchasing tickets or the tax component of an ff booking.

Purchases from other Qantas business units such as gift vouchers from the frequent flyer on-line mall will not count.

Payment can be made using bpay. Instructions are online, we did so using the amex merchant bpay ID and our card number as the reference.

Re the 5000, read up thread, most members are receiving this 80k bonus as 5k on initial spend and then 75k on hitting $3k.

A Qantas voucher should be fine if you are not ready to make a booking yet.

Does anyone know if Jetstar flights are a qualifying qantas spend to get the lounge passes/additional QF miles bonus?

I wouldn't think so. It's based on the processing merchant which will be jetstar not qantas.

Perhaps if you purchase from Qantas.com.au?

Perhaps if you purchase from Qantas.com.au?

If its only a jetstar flight, website will redirect to jetstar site. If booking contains jetstar and qantas then it should qualify.

The taxes of a jetstar award would do too.

Cheers. What's a cost effective way of doing this? I've stupidly just booked flights yesterday and used the wrong card.
How about a hire car through qantas.com.au ? Has anyone seen a document that specifies what qualifies?

If the flights you booked yesterday were with qantas, you can cancel them within 24 hours without penalty and rebook/pay with this card.

Not car hire or hotels only flights booked through QF with a QF flight number

Outside of 24hrs now, and looks like the itinerary I booked is considerably more expensive- thanks anyway.

Got my card today, nothing in the pack about the 80k points, or is this normal ?
I already have an Amex Velocity card but I am hoping I sneak through

Happy to report that I have received my 80k+2.5k bonus points and they've already been transferred across to my qantas account. I already had an amex issued card before applying for this card so your chances are pretty good. I didn't receive any material regarding the bonus points in the welcome pack.

Brilliant, I will pop out in the morning and purchase my wife some Bose QC25s for her Birthday and see if I trigger the first purchase points.

Cheers,

Applied for mine yesterday and got approved straight away - very happy to get the points boost again - have been stuck waiting for 12 month cancellations to tick over

Re: Qantas American Express Premium card /82,500 QFF points / $249 / $3k spend 3 mont

Hi Guys,

i've read through the forum so sorry if I missed it but could anyone tell me if you sign up through a referral as the signatory do you lose QFF points or could you possibly gain bonus QFF points?
I do understand that the referee will be entitled to a bonus so I would prefer to do it this way, just not at my own expense.

Also I did see a referral page for this card a few days back but can't seem to find it now? Any help would be appreciated.
