Can someone please show me how to see the accumulated qantas points on my amex account online? It was a list of transactions with the obtained qantas points right next to it incl bonus points. I cannot find it anymore.

Dont worry, AMEX are having system upgrade since today. I was advised by amex this morning. Allow 48-72 hours to be completed.

ok happy to report -- got approved quickly - spent 3k in a single transaction when i received the card 3 days ago, and the bonus points posted in the points summary online when i looked today
i already currently hold the plat charge, companion plat reserve, recently had and cancelled the velocity amex and just before then had and cancelled DJ amex.
got points for all

You got the entire 80,000 points? Have they been transferred to your QFF account?

I have not spend $3000 in total , but it is showing this:

I got the same "card activation bonus" I hope I'm wrong but I think I know what is happening. If you get referred by a friend, then you get 5k points on activation, 2,500 points for spending on Qantas related product and the remaining 42,500 points for spending $500. In other words, I may only get 50k points rather than 80k points. I did not get referred by a friend. I went through the normal amex website i.e. spend $3k in three months.

Perhaps we can keep the 5k quiet and then complain later when the 80k doesn't appear? Assuming you have evidence such as screenshots of the offer, there should be no problem chasing it up with amex. I had the same issue with my qf ultimate amex last year with being overcharged the annual fee, and while it took a month, the points came and the charge was reversed, and they were pretty good about it.

Given there is a 6-8 week delay in the t&cs I will hold off for a while before chasing it up.

If anyone doesn't have a requirement for their Qantas passes, I would be inclined to swap them for two virgin passes.
I need 4 Qantas passes in March and would be happy to pay for them if you we're not going to use them.

I just can't justify making another application, I think I picked up 6 new cards in 4 months so RIP credit report lol

I booked a Qantas flight a couple of days ago with this card (through the Qantas Website) and the points were added this morning. I didn't receive the bonus 2,500 points though. I just received 1 point per dollar. I would have expected the bonus points to post along with the transaction. Did anyone book a QF flight with this card? Any luck with the bonus points?

I got the card activation bonus too. Agree with excel addict, lets keep quiet on 5000 pints, and see what happens with we hit the 3000k spend and points transfer

Even if you book the flight and cancel your card, and say no, you will still be within the 12 month limit. So the risk is yours

It is best NOT TO TICK already hold an amex card. So far many AFF member has reported points still posted even if you already has Amex-issued card. And please do not call amex ask about this, it will ring alarm bell.

I can't answer for this card, but I ticked yes (Velocity AMEX platinum held) when applying for the AMEX Priceline platinum. Met the requirements, immediately got the bonus points. I'd suggest it's unwise to falsify a credit application just to earn a few bonus FF points. Personal integrity is a commodity more valuable than that.

I received the bonus points this morning after hitting the $3k spend yesterday. At the time of application I ticked yes to currently holding an amex card (amex velocity platinum). So, it looks like there are no issues with currently holding an amex card. I think you can only hold a max of two cards (plus business card). I cancelled another card just before applying so that I wouldn't have any issues with this. Amex are great! Great service too!

Applied online and got a txt to call

Rang and phone rep said he'd approve whilst on hold but I wasn't eligble for the upfornt bonus points as I had ticked Y to holding the Amex card ( velocity)

I told him not to bother with the application
