Hyatt offering status matches via Twitter

My email offering status match arrived on Sunday morning.

Same result here, HH Diamond for the past 3 years on base points. Hyatt's loss as well as mine I think. The email was a terrible cut and paste job from about three different emails, including one asking me to send proof of a stay to them.

I'll stew on it for a bit and have a look at my destinations for next year. If there are enough decent Hyatts in those places I might craft a "please explain and reconsider" email.

I wont bother as HHonours have the best deal ever .....now only for diamond members I was able to score 8000 points a night in a capital city middle of Europe over December.

Showed them my Hilton Diamond in the email.

I've only been offered Hyatt Plat to match from my Hilton Diamond. Is there anyway around this? Surely they dont think any HH Diamonds will switch to Hyatt Plat given there is no comparison between the two programs?!

Nope. I think they got surprised by the rush so have limited it.

Also got email offering Hyatt Plat, but suggesting they would only give Diamond to SPG status now.

Not worth it imho

Given the mixed reviews here that some were matched from Hilton diamond to Hyatt diamond I would suggest all those who go only platinum to send feedbacks either via Twitter or Email or both, nothing to loose.

It was pretty much only people who got in quite early that got the Diamond from a Hilton match.

Most yes but some got it later as well.
This status match was very inconsistent that's why I think it worth pushing it for anyone who plans to stay with Hyatt.

While I understand they can't match everyone (and shouldn't), I do agree that you should follow up – that was going to be my plan if they only offered me Plat. Make sure you tell them you won't be switching over stays without Diamond.

It's simply not good enough to move your stays over. The lack of breakfast would be a deal breaker for me.

Only offered Platinum as well. Will email them to ask them to reconsider but not going to bother otherwise since Platinum seems useless.

I DMd on Twitter very early (Friday night and was only offered Platinum to HH Diamond, even after specific request for Diamond. I will have another shot.

MrsDaver6 was also offered platinum from HH diamond. She contacted them about this and they wouldn't budge. Worse is when they tell you lies that you know to be untrue. Any possible goodwill by a status much offer, even to a lower tier, is totally lost.

Would be interested to hear if anyone does get them to reconsider though.

Did Hyatt ever actually say it was offering a match? Certainly the bloggers interpreted it that way but I only ever recall Hyatt tweeting something like 'Fed up with your hotel loyalty program? Let's talk'.

I'm going to give it a shot and will report back. I'm Diamond on base points with ~15 stays at Aussie capitols with a decent Hyatt. Similar travel plans next year and Hyatt Platinum is not at all going to tempt me to move any of those stays from Hilton.

Just applied for a shot from IHG PE, will also advise. If it fails, I'll follow up with a screenshot of my best western diamond. Will advise.

Goodness me. I know of no Aussie "capitols", although I am aware of a number of capital cities in Australia, and I've been aware of them for quite a while. There I was thinking "capitol" was one of those gross Americanisms Australians shun.

I haven't tried Hyatt, but Hilton was happy to match Accor Platinum to HHonors Diamond.

I sent them a rather curt return email reminding them of the significant difference betwen Hyatt Plat and Hilton Diamond and how they were not remotely similar. I actually need to book accom in PER and I'm waiting to see if the match to Diamond comes through - if so I will book Hyatt, if not Ill book Hilton (and I told the status match team this).
