Re: Hyatt Status Match

122 posts - can't recall reading that being the reason.

(Yes)

Nobody on AFF had mentioned it in the 122 posts. Hence the reason I posted about it.
It was however posted widely on all the large blogs eg. Boarding Area and on FT.

True - there is reference to this reason in the link to OMaaT in post #2 of this thread. ..

"As we all know by now, Marriott is taking over SPG, which is leaving a lot of SPG members unhappy and concerned. Hyatt is capitalizing on that" ...

I'm jumping in late here. So I take it Hilton Diamond is a no go now? I'm actually Hyatt Diamond at the moment but due to expire end of Feb. I'm turning the big 50 this year and myself and family are off to Hawaii in April and we've got Hyatt booked in Waikiki and Kuaia. Oh how I'd like to be Diamond for those bookings! The Hyatt Diamond experience is truly a lovely one. Anyhow I've sent in my details.....

Did your HH Dia > HGP Dia match stick ?

Did your HH Dia > HGP Dia match stick ?
Yes - I got in strait away - it was the Friday afternoon. I did it with my smartphone as I was at a work celebration.

Confirmed on the Sunday.

The match was very useful as I already had a four night Hyatt stay booked next March in Osaka.

Re: Hyatt Status Match

A little late to the party on this one but applied last Thursday using SPG platinum status and Hyatt Diamond approved within 48hrs. Pretty darn happy too - it's my escape route from Marriott if needed. Got the HH Diamond match too but less likely to use that one I think.

Thought I'd give this a try through Hyatt Goldpass customer service as I am not on twitter - I am already Hyatt Plat and Starwood Lifetime Plat - so Hyatt status match to Diamond should be easy - one would think - after 4 weeks of multiple emails and providing the same back up information 3 times I received an email congratulating me on achieving Hyatt Platinum status !! - very uninspiring

I sent them an email with all my details and scaned card/screen shot. They said it will take up to 14 days to follow up with my request. Is that what they also said to you? Do I need to chase them after that?

I sent an email on 30 November, received confirmation of Diamond Status on 10 December.
Logging into my account I am still at Gold status.

Have emailed them again and waiting on a reply.

After multiple emails back and forward with US I finally got this resolved and am now Diamond status - achieved after I decided to call the Aust Hyatt call centre and spoke with an incredibly helpful lady (Katrina I think) who got it fixed in 24 hours - thank you

So an update on this. MrsDaver6 was only offer platinum from HH Diamond. Couple of appeals but they weren't interest so she accepted platinum.

No card in the mail or the like.

She happened to notice on a Hyatt promo email that they referred to her as a diamond. So seems like at some point they decided to gift her diamond, but didn't bother to inform her or post a card and info out. Pretty stupid as had she been diamond, she would have booked some Hyatt stays by now.

So all those who didn't get diamond, it might be worth checking what you actually got.

Guys can I ask what's the easiest way to get Diamond status with Hyatt through status match as I'm pretty new to all this.

I was thinking of getting SPG Gold status with the Mastercard World and then take on the SPG Platinum status challenge to earn accelerated Platinum status but I'm not sure how long Hyatt is running the status match for and whether I'll get it in time.

Hyatt isn't running a current status match AFAIK. This thread refers to the limited time offer via Twitter in November '15.

I had the same experience as MrsDaver6. However my status remained at Platinum.
I was very lucky as I recently followed it up with a fellow AFF'er with great connections and influence in the hotel loyalty industry and have now been upgraded to Diamond.
Looking forward to trying it out, getting a bit fed up of substandard treatment at Hilton to be honest.
