Applied the card online on Sunday and received the card in mail today, impressive.

They must have restocked the plastic.

Got the points with an existing DJ card (declared). Very pleased!

I have a Qantas AMEX. Has anyone had the 110k points declined when declaring another Amex?

There has been a bit of chatta on the referral thread about referral points not coming through. Just wondering if there has been any experience of that here.

i noticed i only got credited 80k points when i signed up (through a referral on here), i had to call up and get the 30k extra credited, took about a week, i forgot whose link i clicked on so not sure if they got it or not? I hope when i called it also credited the referrer

I signed up for the card via the link on the Velocity FF website for 100,000 bonus points (was unaware about the Refer a Friend link until after I applied).

Currently I only have accrued a spend of $670.00 not including annual fee, and my Point Summary today shows bonus points of 10,000 Velocity Cobrand Acqusition Bonus - Plat 10,000

Does anybody know why I have only received 10,000 bonus points under heading ofVelocity Cobrand Acqusition Bonus - Plat 10,000 and not the full 100,000 bonus points.


Should I ring AMEX or has this happened to others and I should hang tight and wait for them to appear. ?
I don't hold another Amex card.

After I received my card, my partner also applied for the card using my 'Refer a Friend' link, so I'll have the bonus 20k points coming my way also, just not sure why I only received 10,000 bonus points for my sign-up of the card.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I thought the actual required spend was $1,000

That's what AMEX advertises but it's usually triggered when you pass $500 spend

Mine did trigger at $500, but I do think a few people on here have actually had to spend $1,000

Because that is an offer separate to and in addition to the 100k bonus.

Burmans, Thanks for clarifying that. I signed up via the link on the main page of Velocity FF website, (didn't know about the Refer a Friend link until after I applied) and didn't even think that the 10k bonus points would be for using the link on VFF website, or that I would get anything other than the 100k bonus points.

I had an existing card when I applied and told them about it on the application. My new card says "member since 2013" which is when I applied for my Plat. Edge. I got the bonus points.

Not sure what will happen if you omit to advise having a previous card though.

most have been awarded bonus points regardless of whether they've listed themselves as having held a card or not. However, did you apply through a referral?

Not sure what will happen if you lie about having a previous card though.

I said no even though I have one. The letter with my card referred to my existing card. Still got the points.
