Vinomofo Wine Deals

Haha that's my problem with a lot of these deals. My ideal number is 3 bottles and a dozen is far too much. I prefer variety over quantity. Usually I split a dozen with at least 3 other ppl to reduce the bottles. I'm based in Sydney and can organise case splits with other Sydney folks (I work at Martin Place so I'm reasonably assessable for bottle pickups). PM me if interested and we can exchange emails/details.

Awesome. I am a 4 minute walk from Martin Place, so happy to join your syndicate for this offer. I am happy with 3 or 4. How many are you after? Anybody else want to join us on this one? ...

Any take on the 2013 Mt Barker Riesling? I was going to guess Capel Vale, but they don't list the 94 Halliday rating this time.

Yes, this is the Capel Vale Cellar Exclusive Mount Barker. My wife loves it. We are on our second case. Well, when I say we... Whites aren't much my thing and she isn't much into descriptors. However she really rates the wine. One thing for sure it is a dry Riesling, she cannot stand sweetness.

Glad I got some of that Glenlofty 2012 Shiraz. Thank you to all who put me on to it. What an absolute bargain!

I agree. Faced with 12 options from the Ace Pack, I went for this one given the overwhelming support for this wine from this excellent blog. I rarely go for the cheaper stuff, but glad the Ace Pack is opening my taste buds to the bargain, decent wines. I am wishing I had 12 and this was my go to drop for the wind down after the rabble have gone to bed! It's very easy drinking, straight from the off.

I'm enjoying my first Glenlofty Cab Sauv tonight, another VM bargain. Personally I rate the SV as my favourite Glenlofty followed by the straight Shiraz then the CS but even in third place it is a very nice wine

I will be in Sydney early jan......lets have a pinot !

Sure. I am keen, and looking forward to it! ...

And, maybe by then, we'll have great PN bottles to share from the good guys at mof_ ...! Here's hoping.

If not, I have acquired some stunning wines that I can't wait to share with a fellow wine enthusiast.

The Glenlofty shiraz's or is it shirazes represent what Vinomofo is all about. Both the inaugural 2011 and the recently released 2012 outline what the curly haired mof_ and the spectacle wearing mof_ are all about. The ability to get into a car and drive to a primary production facility and negotiate a price so that the punters of the world are happy says something about their negotiating skills. It is without rebuke that next August will usher in the most anticipated wine of all time.....the Glenlofty Shiraz 2013.

Now let us all give a big thankyou for the person who made all of this happen.

DrSammyLee

Without this mof_, none of this would have ever happened.

Take a bloody big bow !!!!

We'll have a review up on it shortly. But summary, great value and good party wines. Good introduction to each of the red varieties in that pack. I liked the Sangiovese the most out of the 6.

I personally think the Fox creek fox and hound straight shiraz is fabulous.......

it is a stunner isn't it ! so much body, so much chocolate, so much finesse, it is beautiful. I would add that at $35, it's a fair deal. Full flavoured, very Moorish, a standout wine.

However, the Fox was the second wine of the night. The third was the Mount Avocas Cabernet 2012. You have to get the order right...

Three standout wines tonight. Three without fault. I went back to the Pinot to see how thin it was after the Cabernet, and blow me down, it stuck there.

The fullness of the Mt Avoca impressed me, but the overall winner was the Fox Creek. Sensational.

Here is a delicate question - is it better than the Glenlofty ?

I need a side by side comparison, but both are nine out of tenners !!!

Looks like the VM fact checkers have gone on holiday again.

Today's Bethany 'Old Vine' Grenache 2012.

Email subject says 94 points.
Wine heading has 93 JH points logo.
Wine description said 2010 got 93 JH points, not 2012.

So does the 2012 have 93 JH points? 94 JH points? Nothing? I'm finding nothing other than 'special value' status.

More importantly, has anyone got a report on it? Looks tempting! Product Page:

Appears to be the Innocent Bystander Moscato; best one around.

even the goddam_ label is allowed to be of by fifteen per cent I believe.
even this wine could have 14.99 per cent anythingyouwant in it and you wouldn't know if they didn't tell you.

A few fellow brewers mentioned to me the ATO allows for an 0.3% variance in alcohol levels. It makes sense, it's really quite simple to get an accurate reading, I took one just a few minutes ago.

Not sure the Glenlofty Shiraz 2012 is for the long haul. I've just gone back to a bottle I opened on Friday night, and its all tea like tannins and not much else. I'd be recommending drink it now, drink it fresh.

I hope some of you guys got your hands on the recent 2010 VIC Shiraz 95 pointer...missed out myself. :-|
Here's hoping a nice tasty pinot comes along, that is the only way to fix this Fomo!

What would you say is your best purchase from the 'fo?

Reckon that Art of War - The general is pretty special. Otherwise it'd have to be my first order 2 years ago with a mystery purchase. 2008 Yalumba The Menzies, 60% off if I recall correctly. Still got a couple left, showing restraint ;)
