Vinomofo Wine Deals

Does anyone know if you only get the $50 credit for the referral if you spend it in August, does it go back to a $25 credit in Sept? It doesn't seam to say on the account details.

It's for August. They've always had the $25. For August it's $50.

JH tends to rate their stuff pretty highly

You might want to check that information. From the Halliday's I have in my possession, scores are in the low 90's and below. That's very low from Halliday and therefore not ordinarily something that would interest me. Other reviewers have similarly judged these wines to be poor.

Apologies Dr Ralph, maybe I wasn't clear. What I meant was the person the member refers to gets $50, but does the original member referee get the $50 credit straight away that then stays in their account until they use it, or does this referral bonus revert back to $25 in September. The reason I ask is that in the accounts section it doesn't provide a $$ value just the number of referrals.

They don't have a website.

Have a look at the James Halliday review to see how bad they are:

Possum Creek Vineyards Wine & Winery | Australian Wine Companion

4 stars is very ordinary from Halliday.

What have you got against them?! If you go on to read the reviews on their products, the score between 90-94 pts. Wine is open to interpretation, its why we love it. If you take everything JH says as gospel and don't try things for yourself, why bother?

I for one happen to love the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2013 Shiraz that Possum Creek produce. The Malbec isn't the best in the world and you are right to say that Wendouree is quality. But if you compare every Shiraz, Malbec etc to Wendouree, you might as well just keep drinking only Wendouree.

I really like the Zonte's Footstep Malbec, if I could get Wendouree for the same price that I pay for that, I absolutely would. But that doesn't mean I am going to say that Zonte's is rubbish because it isn't Wendouree.

Try to keep an open mind and try new things, not just what people conform to what people refer to as "the best" and nothing else is worth your time.

As someone with a cellar of over 2000 bottles, from prices of $4 to $700 a bottle, I'd have to say that I have an open mind. But I wont waste my time with rubbish.

Because it cuts out all of the cough which would otherwise waste my time. Halliday tastes well over 5000 wines a year. I don't. I value other reviewers, who have the opportunity to taste large numbers of wine as well. I certainly don't rely just on Halliday. But if you don't value the opinions of others then I can't help you.

I appreciate your right to have your own opinion, this is an open forum after all. I submit judging regularly and too have a very large cellar. That doesn't mean I have the right to label a producer's entire label "rubbish." Even when I score something lower than 90, there is still good things that can be said about them. What you think is rubbish, not everyone else does. If you want to hang on every whim of one man, go ahead, but don't belittle others opinions on not agreeing with you and Mr Halliday

I emailed them today and got this response

Thanks for getting in touch.
Any one you refer will have the $50 on their account, it wont expire. If they buy in August you will receive the $50 referral credit, if they buy after August you will receive $25 referral. However the voucher credit will expire after August.

Cheers,

I second Dr Ralph only I will use the word "refuse" to avoid controversy. This is only a personal assessment as is Hallidays

We never know what deals are coming up so just keep an eye on your emails and the site for your preferences. Alternatively you can set some preference alerts on your profile.
I just had a look at your referrals and there are some similarities between your account and all your family members. Are these your family members emails? We're happy for you to sign up everyone so they don't miss out on the wine, but we want to make sure they can access our site deals for next time too. The dispatch emails will be sent to these email addresses too, so it's important that we have the right email addresses and your family members can access their accounts.
Any other questions, please let me know.
Cheers,
Not sure it pays to email them when you have signed up 15 people at the same address:p

Signed up 3 family with different email addresses I had to create for them as they don't have email (same domain so look similar). I have previously brought on my account for them and run over to their property on the tractor ( live nearby) but its time for them to stand on their own 2 feet and also learn to use email. They don't even need to learn email but just buy the stuff themselves, how hard can it be

WineNot, seems the reason you were so vehemently supporting Possum Creek and other wines is because of the referral link you posted in the DM and other wines thread, which has now been removed by a Moderator, but included in part 'Lets hope we both get some free wine out of it! '.

As a new member of AFF, I suggest you check the rules for the posting of referral links.
