Vinomofo Wine Deals

2013 Hewitson Mother Vine and GB Filsell

I've tried the 2012 Mother Vine, liked it a lot and put the rest in the cellar.
Also tasted the 2013 last week alongside a 2013 Grant Burge Filsell as way of comparison. Both cost similar money with current discounting. The 2013 MV had excellent bright fruit and was surprisingly drinkable now. Possibly even better than the 2012. The 2013 Filsell was more oak dominant but not over- bearingly so. Recommend both these wines:D.

sounds like the hewitson JUST won on points

We all got andre's note didn't we....

Hi Bee,
I’m hoping you can help me.

  • We want to grow the Vinomofo tribe - the more mof_s there are, the more buying power we have with good producers, the more awesome wine deals we get.

So we enjoy the great wine that's been on offer but when the takeover comes and the lads are swimming in it, no one can complain. This is incredibly cheap advertising and is to be admired. However, let's hope this show goes on for a while yet.

Yup, it's what gave me confirmation of August 31 for the current referral offer (posted above).

Pros and cons to their growth I guess. I see more cons than pros at their current level (>300K members).

I see the Lou Miranda Golden Lion Shiraz 2013 | 94pts is back again today for $15, down from $50.

Did anyone get it before? Was it OK?

The Malbec is not their greatest. The 2013 Shiraz and the 2012 Cabernet though are fantastic. I had bought from the winery before buying the Cabernet Sauvignon from Wine Direct. The Cabernet is brilliant!

Tried a couple of these. Labelling is very Chinese orientated so suspect cancelled export order. On opening big sweet fruit but does settle down with decanting. Good at $15, no way worth $50.

Does Possum Creek have a web site?
Who do they sell their grapes to? (according to winedirect most are sold)

My understanding is that they sell off majority of their grapes and they keep what they deem as the best to small produce their own wines. Don't appear to have a website that I can find. JH tends to rate their stuff pretty highly

JH ratings:
Cab Sauv 2012 - 91
Cab Sauv 2013 - 90
Shiraz 2012 - 92
Shiraz 2013 - 94
Malbec 2012 - 89
Malbec 2013 - 93

Wouldn't say those are high at all, compared to many of the other VM offerings
