Greed?? A human emotion. Are you suggesting that ¨greed´is a corporate reality that has been instilled within QF?

Greed is required for any corporation to succeed.

Greed is also required to climb up the airline status ladder. I want my SG and have to spend a lot for it. My QP last till end Dec, sitting on 575 but will do 8 QF flights in Dec to get over 700.
I know a couple who don't/won't fly MAS because AAX is so "cheap".

Trying to get a status with an airline isn't greed. It's trying to make the many work related travels more bearable.

He's a junior at it in this forum, but this week Mr P flew twice yesterday (Sunday), twice today, then Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and next Sunday and pretty much this pattern until Christmas.

Ok, that get's MrP to requal platinum in time. Now, I am only going to be 100 status credit points behind gold......And so begins a status run. Maybe.

One possibility is a combination of UL, RJ or CX business class BKK-HKG for ~$800-$1000 and 120 SCs. Possibile to do mid afternoon and return late evening while you are over there.

So it's in my case greed, in the sense that QF SG gives benefits over QF PS or NB.

Oh, thankyou! I just managed to change the flights - to exactly the same details but this is what I see -

QF8419 Sydney to Bangkok

QF8418 Bangkok to Sydney

I'm all good now I think?

Thankyou for this story as I was able to change for FREE! 320 status credits plus 50% bonus. Might just go celebrate as MrP is on a plane to Hobart and I am home alone.

If you have a booking with a QF flight number but operated by EK (i.e. QF8xx_) then you will get SC

The checkin will be managed by EK
The lounge will be EK lounge

Just a quick one on this. The lounge will be EK provided the pax is travelling J or is Gold or Plat. QF have not completely negotiated lounge access for QC only members.

Since "simpler and fairer" I've also seen it stated that whichever fare I'm booking will earn 1000 points, when this is no longer the case....

I booked a flight for December and took a screenshot of just such a statement... unsure if I'll pursue it when it credits as 800 points instead... but they really should fix their website, it would be easier than being misleading
