Prawn & Glass Noodle salad. Prawns were cold and fairly tasteless, glass noodles were tasty and a hot of heat from the chillies, countered by the sweetness of the Cherry Tomatoes.

Could have had two of them - hoping to get them on further J sectors this month.

Pity about the level of service - it let down the meal. Uninterested,mostly old crew, gathering in the galley to gossip and no top ups of water or red wine - until I caught the eye of the CSM and tipped my glass upside down.

Wait... so the prawns were fairly tasteless, but the noodles were good...so you want another one? I don't get this.

Producing prawns which actually taste of, well, prawns with all their sweetness and texture on board is a real challenge.

As for chilled prawns, no biggie as long as they are not raw. My guess they aren't fresh prawns, viz. they are catered cooked prawns, likely already peeled when they come out of the packet.

Yes, the prawns were the only disappointment in the whole dish -shelled (tails left on). Would still have eaten another, the tasteless prawns notwithstanding, because everything else worked.

Hey, enough of the 'old', thanks. Uninterested doesn't come with age. Plenty of young 'uns are poor as well. Though I know you didn't mean to sound ageist :mrgreen: The old dames who cruise would not be amused.

That's an interesting combination. I've heard of QF serving carrot and coconut soup in the lounges previously....

I'm with JessicaTam it was yummy.

With access to lounge and then J flight, i would eat in lounge and tend not to on flights like syd-mel...

For short flights the lounge is for eating, the J cabin is for drinking...
