Wow anat0l thats a stack of flying for the month! All work stuff or some MR's thrown in too?

None of it for work. :) The story behind the development of that week of flying will be coming to a TR near you, soon.... (I promise!)

It's a mad, mad, mad May...... :) :D

I've included the little flights I had that spilled into June, since I highly doubt I'll be flying again this month.... :-| ...
Good lord!

No wonder you looked Jaded on Saturday morning.

I reckon with those 25 days of travel, you have out Kiwi Flown Kiwi Flyer!

Just to clarify guys... I need to focus on some other things at the moment so will probably put AFF near the bottom of my list.

nice thread... thank god for Australia or my travel would be dismal this year:

Flight Sector Report - JerseyVics

can't wait for a few upcomming segments... not to mention a few more flights I'd like to book to Adelaide, Perth and Darwin... (and New Caledonia if I have any more money left over)

My QFF qualification year started in June - was a little depressing to see all those hard-earnt SCs vanish. :p My year has started out quietly as follows:

Code:
Date Flight	Cities	Miles	Fare	SCs
2009-06-04	QF 636	MEL/BNE	859	O	15
2009-06-07	QF 635	BNE/MEL	859	O	15
2009-06-19	JQ 171	MEL/CHC	1503	JS Lite	0
2009-06-21	JQ 166	CHC/MEL	1503	JS Lite	0

That gives me a total of, uh, 30 SCs earnt in this qualifying year so far. :(

I'll be having myself an airport-free July, a few domestic flights August through October, however I'm indulging myself with a little trip in November to get the SCs back up to respectable levels. :p Planning holidays is so much fun!

May/Jun 2009
Mel-Perth Tiger
Perth International-Sin Tiger
Booked this early and with the cab ride between Perth domestic and international I don't think I'll do this route again. Much prefer Melb-Darwin-Singapore as a cheap way to get to Sing.

Stopover

Sin-KL Malaysia MAS
Malaysia-LHR MAS -
Economy and one of the best inflight meals I've ever hard

STN-Istanbul Turkish Airlines
London Stansted is a very nice airport modelled I was told on the new HK one. Very reasonably priced food, a nice ride out there for GBP10 on Stansted Express. Just allow a bit of time from passing through customs to the gate as the gate as a rollacoaster train ride from the main terminal
One of the most crowded flights I've ever been on

Istanbul-Antalya Turkish Airlines
2 hour layover at Istanbul late at night. Delayed taking off. It should be the same sort of plane but seems a lot roomier

Antalya International Airport is larger than what I'd thought and like a lot of these middle sized airports pretty easier to fly in and out of.

Stopover
The old part of Antalya looking over the Mediterranean is fabulous. The hotel we stay at in the Lara Beach area for a conference is all in. All meals, all soft and alcholic drinks included. A week or two here on holidays as opposed to business would be very nice. Just lay back and relax!
Hotel rack rate Euros 130 per night.

Antalya-London Gatwick BA
A free flight... AUD60. Some friends were in paid seats up in business class. But business class to Turkey is exactly the same seats as economy and nothing like the business class seats we enjoyed on a free flight from LHR to Larnaca Cyprus in 2006 which had the wide seats. Back then BA business class service was fantastic. Always liked BA service... this year on 2 flights the overall BA experience seemed to have gone downhill somewhat. Individually though BA customer service especially at the airport is first class.

Overland by road and ferry to France
Dinard France- East Midlands Ryanair
Dinard is a very small airport in Brittany. Managed to get 20kg suitcase onboard without paying a surcharge plus 10kg in hand luggage. As always the Ryanair flights are very good once onboard. It's just their MD is stupid.
The cappucinos and hot chocolates on board are as good as in cafe

London Heathrow Terminal 5 -Frankfurt BA
Free flight via Frankfurt to Singapore. Dinner @ Carluccios just outside the LHR gate... a great meal and a very nice last taste of their NW Sicilian Red. Carluccios is opposite the breakfast place with the giraffe signage in T5.

We sit on the tarmac for nearly 70 mins. With a 90 min gap in flight connections at FKT for Singapore the 4 of us trying to make this connection start to worry

Frankfurt to SIngapore Qantas
After takeoff shift seats so one guy is at the end of the 5 seat middle row, I'm at the other end.. so plenty of time to spread out. Have a mini film festival with a great range of French, German movies.

Singapore stopover

Sing-Brisbane Emirates
They might have a huge audio visual library but with everything they have to offer I finished up watching old episodes of Top Gear. The problem with Emirates is they don't have an arthouse film section. In its place is Bollywood and Arabic titles. Virtually no French, German or European

Bought in Singapore this Emirates flight was $AUD400 return... we have a return flight back to Sing in Jul

Brisbane overnight - Brisbane at 2.30am in the morning...it's like a jungle in the CBD

Brisbane to Melbourne - Virgin Blue
Thanks to the guy on the Virgin blue check in we finish up with exit row seats. I do like VB.. it's like a modern day Ansett.

So thats about 12 or 14 flights in 30 days. We did enjoy crossing the English channel by ferry this year... no luggage limits and quite cheap.

My travel in June was a trip to the good 'ol US of A.

Lots of YUPPS and the flight on June 11 was on a day of lots of cancellations due to severe electrical activity.
See http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/american-aadvantage/963741-anything-getting-out-dfw-june-11-merged.html

My flight was cancelled and I was rebooked on the next flight but they could only seat me in Economy. I was credited with 40SCs but a polite letter to Qantas pointing out that I should have been credited with SCs for the class booked, not flown, resulted in getting the extra 80SCs.
I will make WP for the first time ever in November before my renewal date of Jan 1. This is the first year I've ever had anything above Bronze!

The last two columns are status credits earned for the flight and my running total for the year.
