Re: 2015 in review

One new city Gone to Lre and the rest I have been to are Per Mel Bne and Cbr
all in QF but i have learn alot from everybody!! So much that I got silver in 4/5 months in my membership year and will be gold on my 7th month (next month)
Got in to the habit of picking my flight for upgrade instead, mainly pick only the new config of the A332 before i book my flight then put in my request.
My best trip for 2015 is my retro roo charity flight. I love it it was a fun day for myself.

Re: 2015 in review

Now that I've made the final changes to my flights before the New Year, I can tally up the stats:

Total = 69
New airlines = US, VG (VLM)
New airports = PHX, WAT (Waterford), PPP, HTI, NTL, MKY

Other interesting tidbits of info to share:
Bumpiest final approach = PPP (there were loud gasps throughout the cabin)
Longest absence on a particular airline = 10 years since my previous flight on SQ (I'm back!)
"High and Dry" months (without any flights) = February (thus ending a continuous run from July 2013), June and September
Consecutive flights seated in row 1 = 5 (BNE-SYD-DPS-SIN-MEL-ADL, seat 1A on A320/A330 and 1F on B738 including 1 sector on JQ even though I did not pay for the seat and the last 2 sectors still to be flown)
Heaviest checked baggage = Total 45 kg (JHB-KUL-AUH-LHR, with my sister's stuff after an overnight MEL-KUL-JHB flight following a ski trip at Mt Buller where someone smashed my spectacles while getting off a chair lift but that's another story)
Getaway car = BVE 77D (before my SYD-MEL flight at the start of my LHR trip above, I was waiting for the 400 bus near Mascot station and was pacing around behind the bus stop with my suit carrier next to the seat as I was on the phone with QF when a guy in high viz steps out of a car across the street and grabbed the bag, so I shouted "hey that's mine" and snatched it back from him but he had the audacity to swear "bull****" at me before jumping into this getaway car)

Re: 2015 in review

Hi guys - just checking what website/app that would be best to track flights for the year (especially if its across a few airlines)? I'm using jetlovers right now but would love to hear if there are others that would be as good.

AFF Flight Tracker (see left under 'My travels' ) and look on the top AFF menu bar under "Member Services". Used to use Flight Memory, but switched over years ago.

AFF Flight Tracker: Flight logging, mapping, stats and sharing
FlightMemory - Where your memories fly! - Create your personal Flight Memory and keep track of where you've flown!

These are the two I use.

Thanks snabbu! I've signed up to both - looks great! I assume for a newbie like me, for past flights, there is no way other than to manually log your past flights (never used openflights before either).

If you have your flights in a spreadsheet or can export in an appropriate format from another tracking program, you can import the file into AFF Flight Tracker.

Re: 2015 in review

Light year for me, 15 flights for a total of 23,352 miles and 49 hours in the air. Airlines include QF, JQ, JL, KA and MM.

New airlines: JL, KA, MM
New airports: HND, OKA, TPE
New countries: Japan, Taiwan

We absolutely fell in love with Japan and sorely needed more time there. Will have to try and make another trip there this year time permitting.

Scott.

She'll steal your heart, Japan. Seems the world is finally seeing its beauty/people/cities/infrastructure (no thanks to Japan itself – terrible at promoting itself) with a crazy growth in foreign tourism.

TPE is on the list for this year though!

As others have said:

AFF Flight Tracker: Flight logging, mapping, stats and sharing

However what works really well and makes keeping track of flights easier is Tripit. You can really easily import your itineraries in and its handy AF, you can then one click import into openflights, very little or no manual entry woo!
