Normally I could answer this myself, however, the seat map that is being provided by QF (Select Seats option in booking) and checkmytrip.com for SFO-SYD QF74 on Monday the 31st of August are slightly different.
On CMT it is 2 - 4 - 2 which is Prem Econ, yet when I go into my booking it is 2 - 3 - 2 which is J class.
Either way I am happy as it is an O class fare which was only purchased 1 week ago, and only myself travelling.
Status wise, I am currently SG, but this trip will push me back into the world of WP with other bookings in place (with QF) which will see PG status within the next 2 months.
So, do I do the happy dance about potentially getting a sky-slope seat, or realise it will be a Prem Econ seat and to count my blessings and praise the aviation gods. (and yes, I paid for a Y ticket, and if that is where I end up, or am given service for, so be it... so long as I get home safely is all that really matters).
Opinions invited as to the mysterious config of this Boeing 747-400
