WP Advance Seat Selection

Is it possible that Qantas think all WP regard row 4 as the best? If so, any way to stop it? A free seat is preferable to bulkhead and last night row 4 was chockers but the next 9 rows had spare middles.
I would suggest you and he get into their profile that no row 4 for him.

You'd need to call QANTAS. If they put that note on his profile hopefully they would read it and decide not to move him to row 4.

Indeed.

I'd take a seat a few rows back with a spare middle vs a full row 4 any day of the week.

I contacted Qantas General and they can't do anything. Need to ring the FF center but of course they only speak to MrP. BC- they said that mentioning it onboard wouldn't be a permanent fix.

Ask them during a flight to make a note in the ipad?

Doubt this would help much. That stuff is for onboard as far as I know. That won't affect how a seat is (re)assigned prior to boarding.

It's a tricky one. Whoever made the swap probably thought they honestly were doing a favour. In theory they should ask first, but you know how it gets with late changes and the like.

But seat selection means you are pretty much on top of things and would have changed to row 4 at -80 hours. And in changing him they took away his WP shadow. How could they possibly think this was a favour?

Now this is where a previous Red Roo could chime in and update and maybe pass on the feedback to the FF staff. DONT MESS with Pre Booked seats.

Second time they've done this in 2 months. The first was much more significant but both times involved a move to bulkheads that we loathe.

Some people value the extra leg room of a bulkhead seat more than a shadow. Also I reckon not every WP would know about T-80 or have the time to go online and look to change their seats.

However, I agree that QANTAS should respect the different tastes of different flyers. It wouldn't take much effort to get this right.

Yes. I get the leg room. But as MrP works he needs the space next to him wherever possible without elbows. It annoyed him immensely to see 8 rows behind him with the spare middle seat and he didn't have one. Especially in the row I'd allocated him. And I find bulkheads extremely claustrophobic.

Here is an example of stupidity at its finest.

Booking for BNE-SYD on 03 Mar followed by SYD-BNE on 19 Mar. Weather disrupted my flight on 03 Mar and was moved to new flight same day. Flew that flight and points credited.

Fast forward to today and T-80 hours. Cannot change seats for Sunday's flight because I need to confirm the flight changes for the flights that were already flown but there is nowhere to confirm them. So I need to call but I am in-transit SIN.

Yes Qantas. Thanks for another inconvenience to what should be a very simple fix.
