…or from a door, or handrail from a momentary balance check, or from any other hard surface anywhere really. It just depends how far down the ‘germ’ rabbit hole you want to go.

I rarely wipe down anything other than benches at home (food crumbs = ants) and still appear to be alive. 🤷‍♂️
 
I’d also contend that my socks or indeed bare feet would definitely be cleaner than my shoes. And unless my feet have been in shoes for extended periods, not in any way stinky either.

I am looking for somewhere to sit having queued for 20 mins for some (admittedly nice) food.
Large table with couches outside looks nice - only one person sitting there. OMG - she has mud (and god knows what else) encrusted boots and trousers up on the table. EEEEW
