Penfolds Wines will hold exclusive tastings of their 2006 bin
release in the Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane International
and Domestic Qantas Club lounges from 20 February to 31 March
2006. Please join us in trying these great Australian wines
if you are passing through.

Moet Hennesy Australia will soon offer tastings of the
exceptional French champagne, Krug, in the Sydney interim
First Class lounge. The Krug family has recreated 'their'
Grande Cuvee every year for the past six generations.
Passengers with access to the First Class lounge may
experience it during March 2006.

Hmm ... that should be a change from the mid to low range wines that have been served in the last few years. (Although I did try a Penfolds Thomas Hyland Red im MEL QP last week. 8)

That'd be a nice freshner-upper before I take off on QF29 in 3 weeks; I wonder what bubbly they'll be serving in 23D and how will it compare? :?

What a pity I pass through that lounge only twice in March :)

Wouldn't mind a few more samples of Krug. Sure beats anything available in the back of the B*S.

Krug retails for around $280 for a bottle, so I will certainly get my value's worth.

Have to say that I loved the Wira Wira Scrubby Rise Shiraz down the back of the bus on the weekend, it tasted like it was designed to be drunk at 10000ft unlike some wines, very moorish!

The SQ lounge at SIN used to have Krug. Now its only Dom Perignon.

Hmmm wonder if I can bring forward my next aussie trip?

I agree Markis10 - the Scrubby Rise is the most drinkable wine I've had down the back for a long time. Can get in short supply though, especially when I relieve the FA of a significant portion of the trolly-load....
