6 weeks of Plat left for me, and completely indifferent. Will be nice to have Plat Lounge access in Doha in April and then that's the end of it. The upside of so obliterating their programme was how easy it was to disengage; no need for the angsty "can-I-or-can't-I" analysis. "No, I cannot."

Looking at the next 3 months, I have 3 domestic return trips on QF and 1 on VA. In past years, that balance tended to be in the inverse. Whatever; as I said, the apathy has been, in its own way, liberating.

Say what you will about QF's changes to their own programme this week, and QF generally, but you have to hand it to them: they are masters at knowing how to "enhance" the programme while still trying to manipulate you into engaging and staying engaged, e.g., rollover SCs.

I've managed to retain Plat now relatively easily, and I had up to May 26 to do so. Without doubt using partner airlines even with the caveat especially equally from Perth is a good way to go. Both Singapore with SQ flight number, and Air NewZealand with VA flight numbers work pretty well in getting the status credits even under new regime. The rest is made up of VA metal going back and forth across this big island by having the joy of being able to book in advance.
