Which LHR lounge for QF Platinum?

T3 BA Galleries F is really disappointing for an F lounge actually. The BA Burger wasn't bad but the a la carte food items was below what I'd expect of an F lounge, but I guess they must reserve the better items for the F pax only dining area (OWE excluded). Much prefer MEL/SYD QF F or CX HKG Wing F or even Bridge.

It's worth bearing in mind that BA do not have any F services from T3. It's really a OWE lounge similar to the BA F Lounges at T5 or JFK. The dining area is opened to all during the day, serving the same menu as is available in the rest of the lounge.

I don't know what the EK lounge in LGW is like, but not sure it'd be any worse than the BA F lounge.

The EK lounge at LGW is fine. Typical EK lounge décor and food - not QF F lounge quality, but a notch above QF int J lounge.

To recap on my previous post, in the end my sister was through immigration without mum or myself as our checkins hadn't opened yet. She used the AA lounge and by the time we got through they were closing, wanted to try the Flagship section but they said that was already closed.

Mum and I had a nice meal and drink in the BA F lounge, before heading to the CX F lounge for the much better views. When I headed to my gate I remembered I could have tried the EK lounge too, but there was no time :(

Is access to the EK lounge at LHR a P1 benefit?

Oh I thought I could get in if flying QF? Didn't try either way so don't know :p just assumed it would be.

I think the only access to EK lounge in LHR is by flying QF F. Presumably CL get access as well.
Shame really as the food is streets ahead of the BA lounge and it's also a shorter walk to the QF gates.

Ok, finally something positive to report about the QF/EK Alliance :)
Shrek (flying QF F) has been cheerfully welcomed into the EK lounge at LHR T3 with our two youngest kids (flying Y). Prior to the tie-up this scenario would have seen all three turned away from the BA Galleries F Lounge due to having an extra guest.
I think it would be great if QF could get the EK Lounge access extended to include WP's and P1's at LHR.

Read back through this thread, and couldn't work it out, can somebody answer:

I'm a WP and I'm flying Y from LHR-SYD on QF flight number but EK metal: can I access the EK lounge at LHR terminal 3?

If you are on EK metal, the EK lounge is the only lounge you can use.

I'm pretty confident that I would be able to use the AA and BA lounges in T3 as a WP (and flying on a QF flight number). Right?

BUT, can i use the EK lounge if i'm a WP, travelling in Y on a QF flight number (QF8xx_) with EK metal.

No you cannot as per the previous reply above. The only lounge you can use at LHR on EK metal is the EK lounge.

So, to confirm, if I'm travelling F on QF metal I can access the Emirates lounge? The QF website doesnt say so, comments earlier in this thread imply that I can!

Good Q .... depending on the answer we might check it out. BA lounge has left a nasty taste in our mouth!

The website quite clearly says no.

I was able to last month, flying QF F. Had access to BA, EK, AA and CX.

While you were there mannej I hope you hit the feedback button with some choice comments about their grammar/punctuation :) .

By the way, I wonder if i) and iii) are contradictory for customers who are Qantas Club members? (I'm focussing on their use of the word only ); also ii) and iii) appear to be contradictory if the pax was a QC member travelling Qantas.

Further, are ii) and iii) linked by an implied 'and' or a 'or' ? Or does the use of 'and' between i) and ii) with nothing between ii) and iii) imply that those 2 statements are together?

Thanks VB. Evidence (in this thread and elsewhere) seems to indicate that access to the EK lounge is available when travelling on QF metal in F. All I can do is try!
