I will go on a Round the World trip with OneWorld. My flight Schedule:
London - Helsinki (Finair)
Helsinki - Beijing (Finair)
Beijing - Tokyo (JAL)
Tokyo - Sydney (JAL)
Sydney - Darwin (Quantas)
Darwin - Alice Springs (Quantas)
Alice Springs - Sydney (Quantas)
Sydney - Los Angeles (Quantas)
Los Angeles - New York (Quantas)
New York - London (AA)

All: Economy Restricted

Which Frequent Flyer Program from OneWorld is for me the most suitable?

Other information:

My BA balance:
Blue member
2,972 miles
My Executive Club Tier points
0 points

Furthermore I have Gold Status at KLM with 143.607 Award Miles.
But I think this is useless form my RTW trip.

Hi flans, welcome to AFF.

Knowing the booking class for the flights is necessary before such a question can be properly addressed.

According my reservation:

Fare type: Economy Restricted

Hope you can help.

Best regards,

Sorry, need to know the booking's fare buckets.

This could be something like (O), (L) or (V) .... if you have your booking refenve you could plug it into www.qantas.com.au/yourbooking and that information may be available.

Since it is L class I would join the Qantas frequent flyer program as all those flights, except for JL, should earn you 1 QFF point/mile and the JAL flights 0.5 QFF points/mile. All up that should earn ~25,600 QFF points which should be enough for a return somewhere in Europe.

I don't know how AAdvantage compares with your routing.

Thank you very much! We will apply for a Quantas card. Do you think it is possible to transfer my BA points to my quantas account?

AA mileage calculations

AY 5081 @100% 5081
JAL 6175 @ 70% 4322
QF 13984 @ 50% 6992
AA 3451 @ 100% 3451

Total on AA 19846
Change SYD-LAX-JFK to AA codeshares and the total adds 4981 for 24827

If you have a day or two free at the end of the trip, a few minor segment changes and you have AA gold ie LAX-DFW-MIA-LHR replaces 5926 with 6781 miles. Or LAX-DFW-SJU-JFK-LHR yields 8449 miles.

Remember you have 16 segments. And the only limit is your time and one non-stop transUSA flight.

Happy wandering

Fred

BA points cannot be transferred to a Qantas account.
