Don't forget you can go from Marriott to Qantas I reckon. Who said this wasn't fun? Great post by the way.

Thanks Newk

Yes you can transfer to Qantas Via Marriott but I think via Hyatt gives a better (but still not good) rate. A quick look at some of the hotel programs adds a few more airlines to the list. As in the previous list wherever there are alternative pathways I have only listed the one giving the highest miles.

14,000 Aeroflot via Marriott
48,000 Aeromexico via Hyatt
23,000 Avianca-TACA via Best Western
24,000 Czech Airlines via Choice
12,000 Gulf Air via IHG Priority Club
12,000 Hainan Airlines via IHG Priority Club
29,000 Jet Airways via Hyatt
10,000 JetBlue Airways via Marriott
14,000 Kingfisher Airlines via Marriott
9,000 Malaysia Airlines via IHG Priority Club
28,800 Qantas via Hyatt
24,000 Spirit Airlines via Choice
14,000 TAP Air Portugal via Marriott
10,000 Virgin America via Marriott

However I don't think I will be doing any of these redemptions as too much value is lost in the conversion compared to the previous list.

PS Done in a hurry so please correct me if you see any errors or significant omissions.

scratch one :)--Kingfisher seems to be on the way out.
Mhen what an amazing bit of work. Well done and thanks again.
It's all this nonsense and the possibilities that it opens up that make DC worthwhile for me for the moment.

FWIW, here's a UScentric webflyer tools that does some conversions: Mileage Converter - WebFlyer :: The Frequent Flyer Authority

Now to work out which would be best for me. Might be a long job as half of these I have never heard of!

Awesome list, thanks mhen!

Looks like the value considerations come down to whether you can get more value out of 120,000 Velocity points or 75,000 in the Starwood transfer programs. Although it might be useful for topping up balances in other program's, at it seems to be the only way to accrue Korean Air Skypass miles by credit card spend in Australia if you want to try redeeming for First Class on Korean's A380.

Looking to transfer my DC points to Velocity and it seems like the rate has recently jumped to 1.5DC pts to 1 Velocity pt!? Has anyone else noticed that?

Just had a look on the website and your right!

Typical, as soon as I jump on board the "enhancements" start.

As long as they don't touch the SPG rate, i'll hang around.

I'd ring up the call centre to complain if i had a spare couple of hours, but they wouldn't have a clue what I was talking about anyway.

I did call them up and they said it was a change on the part of Velocity that they had to accept.

Wow. If that's the case then one of the main benefits of having the DC card has just been devalued by a third!

I suppose Velocity doesn't want any other card to be a better earner than their co-branded Amex cards...

Has this changed back to 1:1 as this is now what I see on the website, or am I looking in the wrong place?

Where did you find that? It's still 1.5:1 for me

Just on their website, the online catalogue part

Velocity
Velocity Frequent Flyer Transfer - You must be a member of the airline's Reward Program to redeem Diners Club Reward points for points in this airline's program. Membership of the airline's Reward Program is subject to their Rules and Terms and Conditions. Your redemption must be in blocks of 5,000 Diners Club Reward points. Diners Club Reward Points may only be redeemed for the airline's Reward Program points by a Primary Cardholder and credited to their airline Reward Program account. It may take up to 28 days for points to appear in the Primary Cardholder's airline Reward Program account. Points once redeemed cannot be reversed. 1 Diners Club Reward points = 1 Airline point.

Probably an error though, that's why I was checking

I have just found 1:1 too and can confirm that it wasn't that last week when I looked. MMM- will try different browsers and clear caches etc and report back

Did you just find it somewhere on the website or when you went to redeem the points the transfer rate option was 1:1? I've found it on the website but the transfer rate when I go to redeem online is still 1.5:1

you are correct. In the catalogue it's 1:1. I am 99% sure that last time I looked it was 1.5:1.

But when i go to transfer it is 1.5:1

Might phone them up and see if there is any "mileage" in the conflicting information ;)

I haven't tried myself, as I don't have a card, but am considering getting one.

If I was to get one, I would consider putting the rent on it, as I currently do with another card, although DEFT charges 3.77% for diners... Rental Rewards might be less though ?

Poor CSO has a script: "the web site is only updated once a month and I totally understand that you are upset with the conflicting advice" "I would be upset in the same situation"

We danced around for ages "it is still such good value" he says. I talk about consumer bodies and complaints systems.
The end result: I have his total understanding. He wishes there is something more that he could do but he can only escalate it up the chain of command and offer me 1000 points for the inconvience.

Exceptionally well trained in keeping calm and offering help. But I was totally stonewalled nevertheless.
So I'll write a letter of complaint to Diners. With a screen print of the web page showing 1:1

edit to add:
I still recollect looking up the web site after the change was noted here. maybe I'm deluding myself but I reckon it did show 1.5:1. Oh well. Memory plays tricks
And I got the impression that the call centre are getting a lot of similar enquiries
