Just curious as to what everyone's going to be doing for Xmas. Are you travelling, working, staying at home & chillin'?

Would be interested to know if anyone has a flight on Xmas Day if if the airline/crew make it extra special in anyway.

Of course if anyone's on QF12 on 24 Dec you won't get Xmas at all will you!

Flying NAN-SYD-MEL-BNE on the 24th, but not doing anything on Christmas Day. Spending it on the Gold Coast.

mrs ejb and I will be relaxing at home after a big family Xmas eve, before travelling to PER the next day for Boxing day with my family.

Have travelled often on Xmas day when I was single heading home and found that the crew were always great but I always had a small gift of chocolates or something as without them I would not have made it home for Christmas night.

In true AFF style, myself and mrsdoc have BNE-MEL on 25/12 and MEL-BNE on 26/12.

25/12 was red edeal but UG to J now thanks to the current promo.
26/12 was a JASA anyway.

Having flown Xmas day in the past, pretty much everyone (pax) are happy enough(moreso than usualy anyway), and I guess have some empathy for the crew who are working. By the time 25/12 comes around, the crews are obviously prepared and are "accepting" of the fact that they've scored Xmas and are also happy enough - probably because the pax typically arent giving them a hard time. I'm sure there's some crew who like flying/working 25/12.

We took AM on 25/12 because it was way cheaper when we booked ($139 vs $285), and I have to work 24/12 and do my best not to have to fly that day - especially in the evening (24/12 is a nightmare usually!)

It would be interesting to know the take of 737 (AFF member - i think that's the handle??) and what they think of working 25/12 and how the pax respond etc?

You havent told us what you're doing ozbeachbabe? :p

Home with Shrek and the juniors, neither of us working Christmas this year :D Champagne coughtails for breakfast, Turkey, ham and all the trimmings for lunch

Aah, that's right, I'll be seeing you in the SYD J lounge on the 24th while I take a flight from SYD-BNE rather than SYD-MEL-BNE :)

Anyway, I will be spending Christmas Day in Brisbane with my mum, sister and nephew. Flying back to Canberra on boxing day to drive to the coast where I'll then spend 8 days on the beach with a few good books, accompanied by good food and wine.

Probably bumming it at home.

Can't remember if Mum works Christmas this year, New Years or neither (I'm pretty sure work will make her do at least one of those shifts; she normally picks Christmas).

We normally have a big gathering on Christmas Eve then see in Christmas Day. The rest of the day is sleeping and cleaning up.

My Grandmother had a heart attack and dropped dead on her front lawn on Christmas Day in 1995 so for a few years we didn't do much. The day has evolved into seafood and alcohol with attendance optional. My parents have the attitude of if we get a better offer we should take it up and let someone else do the cooking!

Having moved out of home recently I thought about starting a go away tradition. Unfortunately Mr karens needs to speak to work before booking a trip overseas. I am hoping we will hibernate with beer and dvd's. My nephew is due on December 25th so it's rather dependent on him (reminds me I need to knit him a blanket).

That said if there are any Brisbane Christmas Orphans looking to hang out let me know and I will try to turn hibernating into a bbq. Mmm, Orphan Christmas In Fiji Status run anyone?

As is required by a very good AFF member...

I shall start the day with Breakfast with +1 at Sofitel Melbourne. Then to kill a few hours I am going MEL-HBA-SYD-AKL. (With 4 hours in the F Lounge for a leisurely lunch.)

My flight SYD-AKL arrives within 15 minutes of +1s' MEL-AKL leaving him enough time to have lunch with his family.

We return to MEL on 28th before a MEL-SYD-BKK-SYD-MEL on 29th up & 2nd back. ATM this is booked F with QANTAS however I am going to BKK next week with EK in F so if I prefer that, I will change to EK for these flights too.

I'm flying MEL-PER-KGI in Christmas eve and spending it in Kalgoorlie. I then fly KGI-PER-MEL on the 29th.

Mrs MatF and I will be in Venice for Christmas, catching the train from Florence on Christmas Eve.
No doubt it'll be freezing cold, but we'll be part way through our belated honeymoon, so we'll stay warm somehow :)

I'll be at HOMe enjoying the company of my wife and my cousin from the UK and his GF

Boxing day is our day of fun, webber on with this year duck, pork and beef, with truck loads of seafood and of course good vino.

We'll be visiting the "kids" in Sydney and staying at the IC.
Nothing better than starting the day with breakfast with the family up in the club lounge overlooking Sydney Harbour.
Oh, and we couldn't miss the evening drinks and canapes. ;)

I will be flying BNE-MEL xmas day, have a friend flying in from Hong Kong on Boxing Day so I will be playing tour guide for a few days.

I shall spend Christmas Day at home with my parents. Flying out on Boxing Day to spend New Years in Thailand.

I have never flown on Christmas Day....

Adelaide for me last flight is on 23/12 and then nothing until mid january, but I should get up to OLP and sell my house!

Oh, might skype my brother in munich, unless he is in Spain.

For the 4th year in a row I will be flying on Christmas Day. MEL-CBR in Y. So far on every flight, free wine has been offered to Y class pasengers. Last year the crew mentioned a few times it would be the business class wine!

On Boxing day, I'm off to PNG for the first time ever. From CBR to POM via BNE, TSV and CNS. (with a stop of 2 nights in TSV).

Will be in PEK where it is not a public holiday. It will be part of my SYD-BKK-HKG-PEK-CAN-BKK-SYD trip for festive season period on TG/CA J.
