Where will you go first when the bans are lifted?

Just cancelled my July flights to Cairns (after previously cancelling my March ones, and my April & May flights to various exotic places overseas and my July flights to Malaysia and Thailand) 😳 :( 😔 😢😭😱
I’m not even going to mention our flights to Athens in mid July and a Greek Island small boat cruise....

I just booked myself a week in Port Douglas in August, funded in part by Qantas Flight and Hotel vouchers from cancelled wine weekend in the Barossa. Hard to believe it will be my first flight for 2020! Just needed to have something to look forward to, and some downtime away from winter temperatures is always good for the soul.

When the restrictions started I had a hope for Malaysia and India in August, and good hope for the UK in November. Now I'm inclined to think the US next February isn't happening. UK next March is probably not happening, and even the US next June is now unlikely. QF may have made the right call if they really aren't flying internationally until mid-2021!

I guess we’ve been lucky - we did a lot of bucket list things in 2018 and 2019 (Rwanda and Antartica among others). However because initially my health wasn’t good and then Ms FM was having a Bub and we wanted to be on tap, for the first time in more years than I can remember we had no travel (domestic or international) booked. So no regrets and nothing to cancel - talk about blind luck!

I keep on looking longingly at North Queensland, but a lack of money and cowardice will probably keep the wings clipped for now :)

He he. Might see you there. I had lunch with some girlfriends today and they were saying they wouldn't be able to get their partners back on the planes until there was a vaccine! 😱🤷‍♀️

We should have an AFF catch up in Port Douglas in August!

Several weeks ago our driver in India thought there was no chance of any visitors prior to Sept 2021

I need to get to Sydney for work, so mid July will take to the skies from Brissie. Also need to go to NZ so can't wait for that travel bubble. Asia is my territory but I guess I need to wait for 2021 for those trips.

Well I doubt USA is on the cards for at least first quarter next year. I was hoping for a quick San Francisco trip in Feb but that isn't likely.
Don't even know about UK now :(

We were due to go to the US and Canada late December. I am assuming that will be completely cancelled. I'd be happy for some warm QLD weather at the moment but can't even get a taste of that currently.

Exactly in the same boat! We had a beautiful US trip booked for December, including a cruise from New York for all places which is certainly not happening (ever again, I wonder?).

We’ve been dreaming of “the bubble” over Lockdown and right now, even just a bit of Brissy sun would be absolutely amazing (last year this time we went over to far North Queensland but I don’t even want to be THAT demanding!). But alas, even Brissy ain’t happening either:(

I've booked a flight to Perth for October to visit with friends. Surely WA will be open by then?!
It had better be as my PER clients are onto me about getting the first open flights BNE/PER - I don't fly direct, so will be doing BNE/SYD/PER (rather than my usual BNE/MEL/PER). Happy to also do my annual ADL trip as well. Will be waiting for SYD and MEL, looks like being no erlier than September for me before I'll be happy to travel there.

I arrive on 5th Aug and leave 11th Aug - if you do decide to go let me know and we can do a appropriately distanced catch up.
Ah. Earlier than me. I heard today that Jetstar sometimes cancel the direct flight Adelaide - Cairns and put people on a flight Adl - Syd - Cairns. So unless Sydney opens to SA I'm not sure if we can risk that as we would need to iso for 14 days on return.

NSW borders arent closed to any states, i think you mean if SA opens to NSW? I thought SA was going to admit NSW from mid July?

It’s changed - currently not opening to NSW, ACT and VIC, although they might allow ACT and NSW.

We will know tomorrow but given the Vics have escaped to NSW for holidays they may not want to give that commitment. And yes, it's the trip home that's the problem.

Sydney in Feb as long as safe and exec lounges open in hotels, plus Port Douglas after April school holidays. Singapore and Penang as soon as I can when safe and allowed.
