Qantas Delays/Cancellations

VH-ZNB was scheduled to do the Sunday 9/8 QF4 JFK-AKL-SYD service. After being rescheduled by a day and subsequently cancelled VH-ZNB has been rescheduled as QF7004 JFK-AKL departing at 9:30pm on 11/8 US East Coast time. Friends of mine who were originally scheduled on the Sunday night service were transferred to a CX flight to Sydney via Hong Kong departing at 2:00am on the Tuesday morning and will arrive into Sydney 36hrs late.
Looks like QF7004 is flying direct JFK-SYD, so it must not have any passengers.

QF21 Melbourne to Dallas today is delayed 24 hours and QF7 Sydney to Dallas is cancelled.

QF7 is due to the aircraft delayed back from JFK, QF21 aircraft arrived into MEL this morning, not sure what went wrong.

VH-OQB busted in JNB.. OQD on a rescue mission.
OQD returning as 7064, but arriving too late for QF11 to operate so it’s cancelled on Friday 14/8.
VH- OQI busted in SIN. Was operating the QF2.

This pax is not happy in SIN. Flight is cancelled.

A388 VH-OQD as QF7064 from JNB across to SYD is arriving at gate on Friday 14 August 2026 at an estimated 2112 hours, 377 minutes later than the usual QF64 gate arrival of 1455 hours.

QF2 SIN-SYD is not having a good run, with OQH appearing to have returned to the gate at SIN after pushing back this evening. As of 9.30pm (two hours behind its scheduled 7.30pm departure), it does not appear to have pushed back yet.

Edit: it's now taxying for departure as of 9.45pm, and wheels up at 9.52pm.

This is the second day in a row that it's been delayed, with yesterday (13 August)'s flight re-scheduled to leave as QF7002 at 1am tomorrow (15 August).

On Saturday 15 August, QF127 (A333 VH-QPF, the 1010 hours SYD-HKG) did not take off until 1125. Gate arrival should be about 1827, 32 minutes late.

B789 VH-ZNK on the Friday 14 QF5 (1935 hours PER-FCO in Italy) was not in the sky until 2241 hours so Saturday 15 arrival becomes a likely 0841 hours, 146 minutes behind schedule.

Sister aircraft -ZNH as QF3 on Saturday 15 (0910 hours SYD across to AKL) was in the sky at 1046, arriving at 1520 hours, 70 minutes late. The second sector to JFK was airborne at 1716 hours, 49 minutes after scheduled pushback.

Today’s QF1599 ASP-MEL is operating around 10 hours late, due to land in MEL after midnight. A220 VH-X4J was ferried MEL-ASP as QF6200 this evening to operate the service, instead of operating QF1258 MEL-BNE which was cancelled. All due to -X4K being grounded after arrival in ASP this morning.

In the second consecutive day when it'll be more than half an hour late arriving at gate, QF127, the Sunday 16 August 1010 hours SYD-HKG (A333 VH-QPE) took off at 1131. Arrival should be 1842 in the early evening, 47 late.

Sister plane -QPF is on 'the 29' (scheduled at 1015 to the same destination) that was in the sky at 1118 hours, with gate arrival forecast for 1825, half an hour late.

Continuing with Sunday 16 August, A388 VH-OQC arrived in Sydney at 0658 hours, only three minutes late as QF8 from distant DFW, but its departure for Singapore on the flagship QF1 (scheduled at 1445) has been suddenly delayed until a predicted 1645, 120 minutes late.

UPDATE: QF1 was airborne at 1734 with gate arrival in SIN tonight forecast as 2333 hours, 138 minutes late. If all goes well and time on the ground correlates to the schedule, most times on the second sector QF1 picks up time as consistent with huge numbers of international flights, there's padding in the schedule for typical conditions. It's likely to be less than two hours late arriving at its LHR gate tomorrow morning English time.

On Monday 17 August, QF8 from DFW (A388 VH-OQD) has had to briefly hold offshore with SYD gate arrival likely at 0839 hours, 104 minutes late.
