Not sure what you mean. The vast majority of pics have been identifed after a bit of consideration. I like challenges, both addressed and put 🙂.

But here's an easy one for those that like a gimme.

This is the gas chasm in one of the "-isthan" countries, North of Afghanisthan. The story goes that they identified some flammable gas being leaked from this crater and someone thought that it'd be a good idea to lit it on fire, expecting the gas to run out. But apparantly, the chasm has too much gas that it keeps on burning for over 30ish years now.

Hell?
Or Mount Yasur?

'Hell' is in the right direction.

You are on the right track, but the story is a bit wonky.

The Darvaza gas crater, in Turkmenistan’s Karakum Desert

Fact : In both Hindi & Urdu (and possibly other Arabic languages, the word "Darvaza" means doorway/entry".

It is simply fascinating how there are some common root words in various languages that share the same (or similar) meaning

Correct. It's known as 'the door to hell.'.

In about the 1960s the Soviets were drilling for gas in the area. The rocks were gas filled and crumbly and started caving around the rigs. Gas was escaping, so they lit it to flare it off. It kept crumbling and burning and today there is this huge burning crater in the middle of Turkmenistan. A surreal experience to visit.

Don't throw the mud****** or the *****bats at me if you know where this is!
