This has been going on for months even years. its time consuming and annoying. when looking for an award using qantas pts I have to go to the AS or the AA or the BA site. this is just not on.
why have a search facility that doesn't work??
Redroo can you give us a clue as to when Qantas will have the finances to fix this ridiculous problem
try searching 28 june syd lhr
tick all the Y J F boxes and watch the availability when u click on the date this is what you get

tinkybelle, your mailbox is full so I couldn't reply to your PM, but I can understand from the above that you're seeing different availability to us. No idea why.

thankyou for that! I have emptied them Markis is going to post my screenshot.
Oh by the way I am using 2 separate macs and safari
and Qantas has told me that their website does not support safari
no idea why when half the world has macs!

Well there's definately an issue with your browser or login - no chance in hell there are that many business and first seats available for peak season to LHR!

thankyou
I will also ad I am looking out of 2 diff silver accounts on sep macs and have just checked again on googlechrome and still the same availability.
so I think I've done everything possible to get the right availability
surely someone out there is getting the same screen shot when asking for syd lhr 28 june all classes??
I have just lodged in as a bronze member and cannot ask for any classes as i only have 7k in my account. I am wondering if it is a silver problem both of the silver accounts have at least 250k in them.
Just logged in as gold ( 50k in account)and got same availability as marks
any silvers out there can check ?

I dont think its browser related at all, clearly there is an issue. How many have noticed my screenshot shows a NB with better availability of awards than WP????

LOL. Just saw that. but there is one extra seat available to WP on the 22nd, NB doesn't see that. Still, weird.

I see the same as markis10 using Safari on two different Macs.
I think I have now worked out it is silvers that are getting that availability.
so we just need another silver to confirm this. Ok just logged in as another silver and saw the same FABULOUS availability.
so its a silver problem
Qantas when are u gonna sort this out!!!

I just logged on using one of my daughters accounts.
PS for SYD-LHR 7th Sep Flex with dates ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1397350715.846812.jpg

My own account as WP
ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1397350738.582326.jpg

There doesn't seem to be any difference in the actual flights available when you click on specific dates. The usual "i" rubbish appears indicating you aren't getting what you pay for.
The PS calendar actually appears to be the more accurate of the two given that there are mixed fare class awards available as shown on those dates for a couple of days I have checked.

Many thanks to Princess Fiona for at least providing something that RedRoo can investigate. PS should not be seeing more than WP.

For the OP the ! are an unfortunate design of the QF system particularly if you need to transit SYD or MEL

Can also confirm my account from SG shows similar (limited) availability, but my housemate who is PS has the same availability as the OP. Dont know if it would let you book all the way through though...

I see similar "ghost" availability when replicating the search by Princess Fiona; the date which says there is F availability and then next page there isn't any. I checked (only by eye, not by proceeding to next page) if any have any F segments on them, and there aren't any.

I wonder how this apparent availability maps with other searches for seats on other airlines' tools.

Interestingly, plenty of mismatched priced sectors that came up during the search (the old "long sector in Y" problem), except such options are actually "priced" correctly...

if only they didn't mess around with a perfectly functioning website...

notice that the icons for the first / business / PE / Y are all so hard to read!

This whole saga is very typical of the way that Qantas is going - downhill at a very fast rate of knots. Another big beef I have is that they combine a Y sector with a J sector - usually for the longest section. Eg recently searched for a classic award J flight in March 2015 LHR-SYD. It was Y LHR-MEL, then J Mel-SYD.

Qantas is now a LCC which doesn't care about their Aussie long-haul customers. It has completely lost sight of the needs of the Australian population. We're at the end of the a very long route, and many or us want, and will pay for, service. I've never bought on price, always on comfort and service. Even getting to Cairns these days to see family is an exercise in dodging Jetstar flights.

I'm now retired, and only fly for pleasure, mainly America and UK. On any flight, don't want to fly to UK via Dubai (only Singapore or Hong Kong). On award flights, don't want to fly back from Toronto or Atlanta via London. But do they care? No. Just keep cutting, cutting, cutting.

I'll use up the remainder of my award points, then that's the end of a very long association with Qantas (unless flying domestically within NSW, when they are still the best).

And another silver with more availability than a WP but less than previous silver posters-
