When is Qantas going to cancel November flights?

Qantas has still only cancelled its international flights until the end of October 2020.

We have flight bookings in early November that we're unable to use, but we need to wait until Qantas cancels them, otherwise we will be charged cancellation fees.

We find it strange that Qantas is not making any decisions yet around flights that are less than 2 months away.

This is what they say about this on their website:

"Our regular pre-COVID-19 international network is unlikely to return until at least July 2021. Because the situation is constantly evolving and may change rapidly, we haven't, at this stage, made a decision to cancel international flights after October 2020."

Does anyone have any idea how Qantas will be dealing with this? Are people expecting them to announce cancellations on a monthly basis, maybe, or only for certain flights or destinations?

We'll continue to wait and monitor the situation, but was wondering if anyone here might have any insight into this.

Original poster of this thread with an update. QF1 flight for 6 November disappeared from our booking over the weekend. Got an email from American Express Travel yesterday (booked via them partly with travel credit) about that flight cancellation, but leaving the Coffs-Sydney leg as a confirmed flight.

I'll contact them on Monday (available business hours only) to say the whole booking should be cancelled and requesting a refund. Anyone know how the $450 travel credit will be treated? The original validity of that has long expired. Will be curious to see if they'll offer an extension, or that money is lost. I have another $450 that's supposed to be used by March, which probably won't be possible. We're not in Australia so can't use it...
I'm still waiting from June when my amex booked flight to NZ in October was cancelled by Qantas, I have been calling amex every day last week, it's been "escalated" to a manager I have been told...

My Qantas international flight (QF code and metal - revenue, not points - booked directly on the Qantas website) for 12 December finally got cancelled today (19/10). First an email headed ‘We’ve had to make some changes’ but the explanation then saying they cancelled the outbound leg and that they will email flight credits. Then 6 minutes later a ‘Qantas Flight Credit Confirmation‘ email with the amount and what to do if you want a refund.

Now next step to make the call to get a refund, refuse their standard inducements to leave my money with them and then wait another 10 weeks....

FYI, they're now quoting 12 to 14 weeks for refunds. My 6 November flight was finally cancelled on 6 October. I was getting a bit nervous but was determined to win that game of chicken! I've put off making the call to ask for a refund until today as I couldn't stand the thought of being on hold for that long. It turned out to be 45 minutes, which was tedious but could have been worse.

The message on hold said that refunds take up to 12 weeks but when I got to Jessica she told me "12 to 14 weeks". I took the offer of double SCs (which my original booking was already!) to retain the flight credit.

I asked to confirm the terms of the double SC thing. I can use the voucher for multiple bookings and each attracts double SC. Great, but what did surprise me is that if I have insufficient funds on the voucher and pay part voucher and part cash for the rest, supposedly I'll still get double SC for that flight. So I have $1311.14 on the voucher, I pay for a $1300 flight with that, and then buy a J class to London using the remaining $11.14 + cash and I get double SC? Can that be right?
